"Why do we pity people who cannot travel? Because by not being able to expand outwardly, they are also unable to expand inwardly, they cannot multiply, and so they are deprived of the possibility of making far-reaching excursions into themselves and discovering who and what else they could also have become." Pascal Mercer, Night Train to Lisbon
"Warum bedauern wir Leute, die nicht reisen können? Weil sie sich, indem sie sich äußerlich nicht ausbreiten können, auch innerlich nicht auszudehnen vermögen, sie können sich nicht vervielfältigen, und so ist ihnen die Möglichkeit genommen, weitläufige Ausflüge in sich selbst zu unternehmen und zu entdecken, wer und was anderes sie auch hätten werden können." Pascal Mercier, Nachtzug nach Lissabon
Bolivia is one of the most beautiful countries in South America due to the concentration of stunning landscapes, worthy of countless "WOWs", to any visitor.
Today's conversation is destined for one of the most beautiful regions we have ever visited in the world: the southwest of Bolivia, a place that activates your imagination to the extreme making you think you are on another planet.
At 3,600 meters above sea level, there is the incredible Salar de Uyuni and the Bolivian Altiplano (where we are in this picture), with its colorful lagoons, thermal pools, volcanoes and private vegetation, all extremely photogenic and capable of making any trip there unforgettable.

Took this shot on the town moor in June of 2019 but really this shot could have been taken at any time in the last 100 years. If you ever visit Newcastle in June see if the hoppings, as we call the fair, are on. It's one of the best travelling fairs you will ever see and one of the biggest.

I take pictures because I like it, not because I am good at it.
The world is like a book and those, who do not travel, only read the first page.
If you only visit 2 continents in your lifetime, visit Africa, twice.

"I see the sunrise creeping in
Everything changes like the desert wind
Here she comes and then she's gone again
I'm just a traveler on this earth
Sure as my heart's behind the pocket of my shirt
I'll just keep rolling till I'm in the dirt
'Cause I'm a traveler, oh, I'm a traveler
I couldn't tell you honey, I don't know
Where I'm going but I've got to go
'Cause every turn reveals some other road
And I'm a traveler, oh, I'm a traveler
My heartbeat's rhythm is a lonesome sound
Just like the rubber turning on the ground
Always lost and nowhere bound
I'm just a traveler on this earth
Sure as my heart's behind the pocket of my shirt
I'll just keep rolling till I'm in the dirt
'Cause I'm a traveler, oh, I'm a traveler
I couldn't tell you honey, I don't know
Where I'm…"
Whilst walking the GR 5 between Spa and Stavelot I was unexpectedly greeted by two really friendly and incredibly beautiful dogs in a meadow!
At We’re Here! our theme today is Vintage Luggage. I have no such thing readily available, so I created a collage this morning, combining my photographs from several museums.
This guy I met on the street here in Düsseldorf…it’s strange how sometimes there’s an immediate bond… and then each goes hs own way…
This is a climber that scrambles everywhere in wild-ish places in Norfolk, UK. I’ve noticed it many times when travelling in the car. This time I saw it when walking at Cley Nature Reserve. So I had the chance to look at it closely and photograph it. How intricate and pretty it is! The iPhone identified it as Travellers Joy, what a great name that is. HSoS!
