What a fine and serene morning. The sky is blue, the sea is green and clear.Enjoy this magnificent view from the Borneo Divers Resort Jetty. One of the most beautiful snorkelling spot in Mabul.
As with many of the beaches in the area, amidst the sand there is much evidence of past volcanic activity in this area.

The beach below the condo where we stayed in Oregon, like much of the coastline in Northern Oregon, shows evidence of a history of volcanic activity. It was magnificent and a favorite haunt of many, many gulls, including this beauty I caught coming in for a landing.
Below is a photo of one the unusual formations we found there, and an assortment of gulls.

That's right, loyal contacts, I'm on the road again. We saw this sign driving south to Newport, Oregon, where we joined good friends from California for a few delightful days exploring the coastal headlands, aquariums, creameries, and forests.
Unfortunately, problems with a new mini-laptop have kept me from uploading more photos or visiting your streams. I appreciate your comments on my recent pastel painting and will visit your photos as soon as I can.
Tomorrow we head to Okalahoma to visit Paul's brother and then on to Colorado to visit my niece and celebrate my sister's birthday.

I had the honor of organizing a small outing for my friend Ken just before he was married in the Spring of 1990. After consulting with two other close friends who lived elsewhere, we decided to meet in San Diego and spend a day or two together.
Here's Ken aboard a Southwest Airlines 737 as it is about to depart from San Francisco International Airport. In those far-off times, I was able to handle our boarding passes myself, and let him think we were going to Phoenix until the moment before I escorted him off the plane in San Diego.
I took this picture back when Southwest Airlines aircraft had several sections of "club seating, in which two rows of seats faced each other. Ken is facing forward, I'm facing the rear of the airplane. That seating plan disappeared years ago.
