Lachung is a mountain village close to the Tibetan border, in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. It's divided by the Lachung River.
The village is home to the 19th-century Buddhist Lachung Monastery, surrounded by apple orchards. Nearby, the Yumthang Valley's Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary protects many species of rhododendron.
The valley is also known for its waterfalls, pine forests and hot springs.

This small golden cup, embedded with jewels, is part of an incredible exhibition in the Museum of Georgia called "Archaeological Treasures." The exhibition showcases priceless gold and silver objects from the 3rd to 4th centuries BCE.

Happy Mardi Gras and Carnival everyone! Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! Let the good times roll! As they say, "Beads and bling; it's a Mardi Gras thing!" Nothing like celebrating Mardi Gras with beads and King Cake! A King Cake is an oval-shaped bakery delicacy, crossed between a coffee cake and a French pastry that is as rich in history as it is in flavor. It’s decorated in royal colors of PURPLE which signifies “Justice,” GREEN for “Faith,” and GOLD for “Power.” These colors were chosen to resemble a jeweled crown. Hidden inside each King Cake is a tiny plastic baby. Each person is sliced and served a piece of cake and each person looks to see if their piece contains the “baby.” If so, then that person is named “King” or "Queen" for a day with luck for a year and bound by custom to host the next party and provide the King Cake. .

The bamboo boat trip from Guilin to Yangshuo was starkly disappointing. The bamboo of the boats is just spray painted PVC pipe. The natural beauty of the river and the mountains is often marred by development, or the long line of boats and ferries bow to stern plowing along which make it feel like a bad amusement park ride. That said, the valley and formations are legitimately beautiful and there were stunning views to be snapped in between moments.

Lo primero que uno ve desde la ventanilla del avión es una torre delgada con una esfera emplazada a doscientos metros de altura. La aeronave desciende hacia la pista y uno continúa eclipsado por las luces rojas y amarillas que se proyectan desde la circunferencia, la cual parece simbolizar (una enorme bola plateada en medio de una enorme discoteca) una de las vidas nocturnas más libertarias y famosas de Europa. Luego, desde el suelo, mientras observas por la ventana del metro, el alfiler inmenso de culo redondo continua dominando el cielo a sus anchas. Estás en Berlín y ella -la torre- lo sabe. Te lo hará saber siempre. En los días remojados en resacas propias y ajenas, en las madrugadas oscuras y sin tiempo, en las horas luminosas y abiertas. Allí está, con su silueta incrustada en el paisaje, destellando bajo la cúpula del planeta.
La Torre de televisión del centro de Berlín se erigió en 1966. Fue levantada por la RDA (República Democrática Alemana), como un símbolo del poder socialista, un monumento de 368 metros de altura de acero, cemento y vidrio, con el cual querían dejarle en claro a los Estados Unidos y a la RFA (República Federal Alemana) que la conquista del espacio la iban ganando ellos, los soviéticos. Un signo imponente de la famosa Guerra Fría. El proyecto Sputnik -el cual se propuso poner en órbita satélites artificiales alrededor de la Tierra- en el mes de noviembre de 1957, lanzó la segunda de sus naves en la cual viajaba Laika, la perrita rusa que fue el primer ser vivo de la Tierra en orbitar el planeta. Esos satélites eran esferas como la de la torre de televisión del centro de Berlín, la Fernsehturm, cuyo diseño está inspirado en esas primeras aventuras de la humanidad al espacio exterior.

We climbed up to the summit of Mout Batur, where the trekking guide arranged best places for us and boiled eggs while waiting for the sun to rise. Maybe have an extra t-shirt or jacket with you as it gets a bit cold on the peak of Mountain.

Mount Batur Trekking started at 04.00 am from the starting place and then you are going to get the peak at around 06.00 am, the excellent time for sunrise. Your breakfast time will be served at the peak of the mount with egg and also banana cooked at the hot steam.
