Lachung is a mountain village close to the Tibetan border, in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. It's divided by the Lachung River.

The village is home to the 19th-century Buddhist Lachung Monastery, surrounded by apple orchards. Nearby, the Yumthang Valley's Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary protects many species of rhododendron.

The valley is also known for its waterfalls, pine forests and hot springs.

After a full day of exploring the Albaicín, take a walk on the road that runs along the Darro River called the The Carrera del Darro which takes you back to downtown Granada. As you walk along the road don't forget to look up to see the Alhambra, which sits on top of the hill right across the river. You can also make a quick stop to see the old Arab baths on your way back to downtown Granada.

The beautiful Generalife gardens of the Alhambra! A palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Spain. The architecture, the gardens and the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the background make this fortress a Spanish treasure! This is just one of the many treasures of Andalusia and the south of Spain! It was originally constructed as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications!

2021 was another tough year for the world! There were both highs and lows. Let's hope 2022 will be an improvement over 2021! Here are the #TreasuresOfTraveling #TopNine / #BestNine photos for 2021. I love that the majority of the photos displayed are of mother nature's beauty! The theme this year seemed to be rocks! Whether rocks along the beaches of Nerja or the Rock of Gibraltar, the photos were mostly taken of natural beauty that we are able to see and experience in the world around us! All the photos happen to be from Gibraltar and Spain and even though they were posted in 2021, they were all taken prior to the COVID pandemic lockdowns and travel restrictions.
