There are many beautiful hotels throughout Cannes, but one of the most famous and impressive is the InterContinental Carlton Hotel along Rue La Croisette Boulevard. It was built in the 20th century during the Belle Epoque architectural period and even if you don’t stay there, it still is a wonderful place to visit to view the beautiful architecture.

CAM Raleigh is relatively new and was built in the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh. It is the Contemporary Art Museum and it opened to the public in the Spring of 2011. The museum has about 20,000 square feet for their 3 galleries and dedicated educational spaces. Currently, you can view the mural "End Racism Now" painted in yellow, just outside the Contemporary Art Museum along W Martin Street.

As we walked across #RainbowBridge above the #NiagaraRiver from Canada back to the United States #BorderCrossing, we had to stop at the international boundary line that separates the two countries to take a photo while overlooking the #NiagaraFalls #Skyline! #HorseshoeFalls is off in the distance while #MaidOfTheMist is getting ready to take its voyage into the center of the Misty falls where the passengers will be soaked! This mighty #waterfall is a spectacular sight to see with your own eyes!

Midi Beach is another public beach on the other side of Cannes, away from Boulevard de La Croisette with nice sandy beaches and spectacular views of the mountains in the distance! This is also a fantastic place to view the sunset every evening as you can watch the sun descend behind the mountains!

The Torre del Oro (or Tower of Gold in English) is located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River in Seville. It was built to strengthen the city’s military defenses in the 13th century by blocking traffic on the river and being a watchtower. The Basilica of El Escorial has a magnificent alter to view and apparently quite a bit of the gold the Spanish brought back from the Americas ended up here in El Escorial. The basilica also has a dome designed after the dome at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The dome rises nearly 100m into the sky.

La Croisette Boulevard is one of the many iconic streets in France. It stretches around the bay and is the place to be seen. This palm lined boulevard is the first stop for many tourists in Cannes. Marché Gambetta is one of the local covered open air markets of Cannes. You can purchase fresh fruit and vegetables, along with seafood, clothing and flowers. It’s a great place for local farmers to sell their produce. In the mornings it can be very hectic and if you come too late it will be completely empty as the farmers have sold their goods and left.
