Judith Barrow 's story is fiction – the facts are real.
When Meg Matthews gives a radio interview about the devastating effects a drug has had on her life she has no idea that there will be anyone else who has suffered in a similar way. But soon she is contacted by three other women who share the same terrible secret: Rachel, a woman struggling with a failing marriage, Jackie, with a series of unsuccessful gay relationships behind her and Avril, a recluse. Each one has their own story. Each one believed that they were alone. In any other circumstances their lives would never have crossed but now they are drawn together in friendship because of the terrible consequences of a drug prescribed to pregnant women for over forty years during the middle of the twentieth century. Used ostensibly to prevent miscarriages Stilboestrol (Diethylstilbestrol) caused unforeseen internal damage to the unborn daughters of these women that was not discovered for years. Alone, the four women were powerless; together they are a force to be reckoned with. Determined to bring publicity to the destruction caused by the drug they hit on an unusual and innovative idea to bring it to the public's attention.

Nunca me gustaron los payasos, de hecho solo fui una vez al circo y dije... nunca mas, ya no solo por ver a esos pobres animales alli.. si no porque cuando veia un payaso en mi imaginacion siempre era como este...

While hiking along The Deschutes River in Sherman Co, I saw this Northern River Otter that had just come out of the water and was heading upslope. I noticed a huge chunk of fur and tissue had been torn from its neck. Seemed to be moving and acting normal, but not sure what caused the trauma. Another otter? Sherman Co, OR, 4 April 2021.
Though the ugly duckling of Hans Christian Andersen grew up to be a beautiful swan, he never forgot the suffering of his childhood.
We're here visiting Fairy Tales
I'd been meaning to post this for a while now, shot this a few months back.
Camera mounted high on the wall with a gorillapod and cinetics cinesquid suction mounts, triggered by a Phottix Aion remote set to capture a photo every thirty seconds, photos de-opacified and combined in photoshop.
I felt the photo needed an anchor though, and who better than world-renowned emergency physician and critical care specialist, Scott Weingart of emcrit.org. So I painted his opacity back in.
