Things were not bad ... until the clouds moved in. Still, despite the clear skies the Transparency was rated Poor by the Clear Skies Chart for the area. Transparency is calculated from the total amount of water vapor in the air. Poor seeing or poor transarency doesn't make for good astronomical photographs. But, you take what you can get ... ie try to make lemonade out of lemons.

Sunspot 2882 there in the middle is a beauty. And, I haven't been taking photos of the sun for very long, but that prom up there at 1 o'clock is one of the longest I've seen.

This is kind of an of things to come photo. I'm wanting to start a series similar to this so, uh... yeah.

The Oslo Opera House is the home of The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the national opera theatre in Norway. The building is situated in the Bjørvika neighborhood of central Oslo, at the head of the Oslofjord. It is operated by Statsbygg, the government agency which manages property for the Norwegian governmen

The lobby is surrounded by 15 m (49 ft) tall windows with minimal framing and special glass that allows maximum views of the water. The roof is supported by thin angled columns also designed not to interfere with views.

Hobart's River Derwent has many moods and colours. This photo was made one dismal Winter morning in 2011 from Lindisfarne on the eastern shore of the River Derwent. The view shows the Western side of the Tasman Bridge with Hobart city centre just visible in the distance through the bridge centre.

One of the first photographs I took with the 35 millimetre Pro Tessar lens for the Zeiss Ikon Contaflex SLR.
