When taking this picture I wanted to combine intricacy with rich colors. So, I used a wooden chair and originally tested out only removing myself from some sections of the chair. However, I ended up liking it the best showing only the top and bottom of my body.
I think the camera lens focused more on my hand than it did on the signs of the Zodiac on this nail clipper. But it's still recognisably amber and translucent. And if for some reason you ever wondered what my hand looked like... Well, now you know. ;)

These were so easy and so so good - I kind of want them around on a regular basis.
This is an Alinea recipe that Peter, Martin and I prepared the day before Thanksgiving. OH. MY. GOD. was this ever delicious - and not actually all that difficult. We dehydrated the olives by leaving them in a warm oven for the better part of the day, Martin burned the outsides of the peppers with his fancy new blowtorch, we used some stale-ish bread for the croutons, I made (and kind of botched, although it's not a difficult thing) the olive oil pudding... Peter has actually made the olive oil pudding successfully before and it is ah-may-zing.
If you'd like to read more about this dish here it is on alineaphile and alinea at home.

The Reichstag dome is an iconic glass dome constructed on top of the rebuilt Reichstag building in Berlin. It was designed by architect Norman Foster and built to symbolize the reunification of Germany. The distinctive appearance of the dome has made it a prominent landmark in Berlin.
The Reichstag dome is a large glass dome with a 360 degree view of the surrounding Berlin cityscape. The debating chamber of the Bundestag, the German parliament, can be seen down below. A mirrored cone in the center of the dome directs sunlight into the building. The dome is open to the public and can be reached by climbing two steel, spiraling ramps that are reminiscent of a double-helix.
