Taken by my bfffff Robb. In his kitchen. I'm not exactly a Halford/Judas Priest fan, but I do love that shirt and would happily wear Priest ones.
Day 11
Happy coming out day!
As an asexual, I can tell you that it's not easy. It means a certain level of freedom—but also means a lot of guilt and hurt when it comes to relationships and hard conversations. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that there's something wrong with you, or even apologizing to your partner that you are how you are...
Let me get on a soapbox for a second. As a transman I feel like there's a certain level of toxicity in our lives when it comes to sex, from abstinence education and the "purity of virginity" for AFABs to the pressure to have sex and "just be responsible" for AMABs. I've seen both sides, and I've come to the conclusion that these notions are simply ridiculous. Also incompatible. How are you supposed to expect men to have sex while condemning women's sexual activity and homosexuality?
Mix that with sexual abuse in my past, being asexual is certainly not the easiest thing to deal with every day. It can cause a lot of guilt over saying no, and make you wonder what is wrong with you. There's been a lot of times that I've wished that I wasn't asexual. But at the same time, I am quite proud of the label.
Anyway, that was my tiny rant.
