"To claim one day to live as free people, that is, as people who refuse to exercise as well as suffer horror"
- Albert Camus
(in free translation)
«Να αξιωθούμε μια μέρα να ζήσουμε σαν ελεύθεροι άνθρωποι, δηλαδή σαν άνθρωποι που αρνιούνται να ασκήσουν καθώς και να υποστούν τη φρίκη»
- Αλμπέρ Καμύ
When it came to the Moscow Metro, I had a good idea what to expects, but the reality was something else. Spacious, stunning, immacculate and clean hardly covers it. There were very few people, Alla said that was because trains come every 90 seconds. Each station has a unique theme, there are no billboards, I could have spent a day visiting stations and riding the trains; this was railway heaven beyond my wildest dreams.
This shot of Mayakovskaya Metro station. The Moscow metro is a marvel of urban design. Every day, as many as 9 million people use the metro system -- that's more than in New York and London combined. As well as being one of the most efficient and cheapest underground transit systems in the world, the Moscow Metro is also undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. The brainchild of the tsars but finally put into action by Stalin, whose idea to make the city’s metro stations “palaces for the people” has translated into some truly spectacular, subterranean architectural gems. It’s possible to spend an entire day or more travelling the metro and exploring the vast array of ornate stations; each constructed and decorated in its own unique way. There are 215 stations on 14 lines.

First compose the purple lotus tone,
Fill in the green wave ballad again,
Soothes pan-cyan light,
Take the stage and jump into the sky.

Fly across the globe got a flight to catch tomorrow
I've been in Rome next I'm flyin' to Sapporo
Look out the window of a plane and I'm in sorrow
Explore the city then i'll fly back to Toronto
I've got a layover I'm lost up in translation
The jet lag hit me in a morning couldn't face it
I took the red eye so I'm sleeping for a day man
My phone get service when
The plane touch down on pavement
Pourquoi et comment cette photo me fait-elle penser à Jack Kerouac ?
Encore une des bizarreries de mon esprit...
Why and how does this photo remind me of Jack Kerouac? Another quirk of my mind...
In French, the original English title The Dharma Bums was translated as Les Clochards célestes, which literally means the Heaven Bums.
Budapestis the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest citiesin the European Union. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation centre, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary. According to the census, in 2011 Budapest had 1.74 million inhabitants, down from its 1989 peak of 2.1 million due to suburbanisation. The Budapest Metropolitan Area is home to 3.3 million people. The city covers an area of 525 square kilometres (203 sq mi). Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with the unification of Buda and Óbuda on the west bank, with Pest on the east bank on 17 November 1873.
The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, pronounced [ˈorsaːkhaːz], which translates to House of the Country or House of the Nation), also known as the Parliament of Budapest for being located in that city, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest.
Translating from Gaelic to Craggy Hill of the Goat, below we can see it's summit. It was a hill I climbed earlier on in the year and it felt much bigger than it now looks on the way to the summits of Carn an Tuirc & Cairn of Claise. To the right was can see Glen Callater.
This bike trip takes me to the summits of two Munro's, Carn an Tuirc & Cairn of Claise. Carn a Tuirc is at a height of 1018 meters (3339 feet), while Cairn of Claise is sightly higher at 1062 meters (3484 feet). It took me four hours to drag myself (and my bike) up there, but because of the bike, it took less than an hour to get back to the car. Total distance covered was 26.5 kilometers (16.5 miles) and starting at 370 meters, I had an altitude gain of over 700 meters (2296+ feet) - that was a big one!!

Yes, It's beautiful, especially veiled with the fogs we've had hanging over Cheshire for the past few days,
but a structured, rigid beauty, maybe even an elaborate shell,
the energies over the years are strong here.....but I guess a lot of those energies come from their own inner truth.....
I can't help but feel the important essence of what it was once created for has been adapted and shaped by rules, expectations and the interpretations of another.....instead of simply just a space for one's own truth.

According to Wikipedia, the name sanderling derives from Old English sand-yrðling, which translates to "sand-ploughman". This individual is special as it has what looks to be a short strand of blue nylon rope/string stuck in the fine feathers just in front of the eye. Yet another sign of just how much plastic is floating around in the oceans, with a sizeable amount being microscopic bits that get ingested by countless organisms.
Wahnsinn meaning madness, craziness, that sign could translate to something like "that's trainzy"

Another of the many funny translated safety signs posted at tourist locations throughout China. This sign as posted on at the entrance to the shaky suspended foot bridge at the entrance to the Shibaozhai Pagoda. The pagoda is located on the northern bank of Yangtze River, to the east of Chongqing.

THE BLOSSOMING LAKEVIEW
The mural concept is to create an abstracted timeline that incorporates the history and iconography that represents and honours native Mississauga. The mural begins with a green abstracted forest to show the landscape of the area, and transitions to water – flowing across the hoarding and forming into a river. The momentum of the flowing water represents our desire to reconnect with our natural environment. The mural explores humanity’s connection to large bodies of water and the calming effect we feel when we are near them. In almost every culture, water is deeply connected to life; the timeline represents the long journey to reconnect people to Mississauga’s waterfront. The mural features an eagle soaring across the water and acts as a reconnection to the land and water, inspired by one of the native translations of Mississauga: “the eagle clan”. The eagle is a predominant totem and is viewed as a great messenger. In the mural, the eagle is a messenger, soaring across time and reconnecting us to leadership and ideas on the protection of land and water.
