Flower : evidence of life

" Around the world , there is nothing more beautiful than a flower. It is a song of life, a testimony to the extreme sensitivity of Créateur. It is the beauty of the logos of God manifested in a flame of joy, a concentration of extraordinary energy that flows to a dead land as prophecy résurrection.Who can explain the wonder of pink or fragrance that shortly before , was only dust ... . dust finally transformed by the action of life , mysterious , almost unbelievable written by the finger of God in the chromosomes of this plant within the fragile. flower is born and matures fruit. , the flower is as to form the fruit, after which its petals and disapear..Therefore the fruit alone, deprived of her crown spring and worked by the action of drought and light , leading to the creation of the seed , ready to reproduce and which finds this same principle of life. I know it's not polite to toot your own horn, but holy hell do I ever love the way today's shots turned out! I was totally inspired by this shot, and knew I wanted to do my own version with blues instead of pinks. Of course, in post processing I wound up falling in love with this shot, which is decidedly more muted. Whatever. Don't you just love those days where shoots go even better than expected and you totally feel like you rocked it out? This is one of those days for me. So let me enjoy it!! Ha!

That said, there were a bunch of outtakes that I really liked too, so I'm posting them in the comments. Let me know what you think of them. And as a side note, when I started my self portrait 365 project, I wasn't sure I could handle it. I mean, I'm self conscious of the way I look and usually hate pictures of me. So how was I going to do a whole year of it, right? But what I've discovered in the course of doing these daily self portraits, is that I love the way I can totally transform my look for different shots. Wigs, makeup, angles, processing...it's become this total obsession of mine. I love making myself look like somebody else, while still retaining the bits of me that I love. This shot is such a good example of that.

Ok, I'll stop rambling about how much I love these shots. Ha. If you read this far, you must really like me a lot! ;)

Transformable Tech dragon Armor :D Transformation video on youtube ^^ youtu.be/5v7L2lAKuq8

Sickert transformed how everyday modern like was depicted. He defied what he called “(John singer) Sargent confection” and “wiggle and chiffon school of portraiture,” choosing instead uncompromising realism. Here, in this drab interior, the woman’s blank expression and the laboured, diagonal pastel marks tracking across her face conceal rather then reveal her identity. Despite its title (“Woman of the Venetian people”), the work was likely completed in London – the hoop-backed chair and iron bedstead are common props from Sickert’s studio there.

The Lambda Class Shuttle is one of my favorite spaceship designs with its birdlike look. I like the elegant curves and the transformative wing mechanism, furthermore the landing gear setup with just two legs is exciting!

With the introduction of all the recent new parts I was able to create the round forms and fluent lines of the original studio model.

It is difficult to find exact reference material for this ship, most of the blueprints and imagery, which are available online, are not correct to the original studio models. I've ended up using my own photographs I've managed to take at the amazing Star Wars Identities exhibition.

The model is a scratch build MOC, there are some familiar elements to the LEGO UCS model as well as Dmac's www.flickr.com/photos/dmaclego original design. My main focus was an accurate cockpit design (it’s still not perfect but I like my solution), the inclusion of play features, a full interior completed with PF functions, lights and more.

The model features:

- motorized foldable wings

- boarding ramp

- retractable landing gear

- detailed cockpit and interior

- turning canons

- landing lights

- working sublight engine

It is bigger than the official set with 94 cm in width and 102 cm in hight (on the stand). I've used up to 6000 parts for the model including an PF medium motor and 7 PF lights.

For the scenes I've used secondary builds, the Death Star ll and a midscaled Star Destroyer based on Brickdoctors www.flickr.com/photos/legoarts/ design both of which are adding several hundred parts. For the Endor scene I've used around 10000 parts. Even the planets used for the space scenes are based on LEGO parts (Planet series: Endor and Tatooin for the red Planet).

I'm happy how my build came together, I hope you like it as well! Thanks.

As ever we had a wonderful evening at the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba.

Each season, a team transform the Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are all featured—along with a special display for Lunar New Year. When the seasons change so do the displays. (Bellagio website)

Bellagio is a resort, luxury hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. It is owned by Blackstone Inc. and operated by MGM Resorts International.

Bellagio opened on 1998, with 3,005 rooms. It was the world's most expensive resort up to that point. A 33-story hotel tower, with 928 rooms, was opened in 2004.

The resort's signature attraction is the Fountains of Bellagio, a dancing water fountain synchronized to music. Other attractions include the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, and a conservatory and botanical gardens. The hotel lobby features Fiori di Como, a sculpture by glass artist Dale Chihuly. It is the world's largest glass sculpture. (edited from Wikipedia)

So much history in one painting, allow the museum that Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney founded to articulate;

Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, founder of the Whitney Museum, commissioned this portrait in 1916 from Robert Henri, leader of the urban realist painters who had shocked the New York art world barely a decade earlier with their images of ordinary people and commonplace city life. By 1916, Mrs. Whitney, a professional sculptor, had founded the Whitney Studio in Greenwich Village, a lively center for the support and exhibition of new American art. When Henri’s portrait was finished, Mrs. Whitney’s husband, Harry Payne Whitney, refused to allow her to hang it in their opulent Fifth Avenue town house. He didn’t want his friends to see a picture of his wife, as he put it, "in pants." Mrs. Whitney’s attire and self-possessed demeanor were highly unusual for a well-bred woman of her day. In this painting, Henri transformed the traditional genre of a recumbent female—usually a nude courtesan or the goddess Venus—into a portrait of the quintessential "modern" woman. The portrait hung in Whitney’s West 8th Street studio, which in 1931 became the first home of the Whitney Museum.

I do love that painting.

It's funny how my work has just transformed over night isn't it? It's like my creative thoughts and dreams are suddenly being projected into my work, which is exciting! Who knows what tomorrow will be like, we'll see! I hope I can keep this streak up.

Slept in until 12:30 p.m. woops! Someone stayed up too late the night before. I went downstairs and said good morning, well good afternoon to everyone then came back upstairs to come on flickr and the internet! Had a shower and then had lunch :) I watched Private Practice with my Mum and my gosh, so stressful! That episode was full on.

Afterwards, I uploaded yesterday's photo and then waited around until about six and went to the park with my brother. I took him to a new section that I had been to with Nataly. There was amazing light and I just couldn't stop taking pictures! Christian took some too, so go check them out! :)

Dad picked us up in the mustang and we drove around the industrial areas to look for more cool photo locations. We got out at one point and looked at this one area which I'll be using in the future! We listened to green day really loud and enjoyed the afternoon :)

Its amazing the that I am able to document the total live span of these delicate creatures. Thanks.

Well, it’s been almost 9 months since I last posted something here! Been very busy with work and this is been ready for a few months but I was only able to upload it now.

Loved the cartoons when I was a kid and really liked the first Transformers movie from 2007, so I decided to build bumblebee, which is by far my favourite Autobot!

This was quite a challenge as it is way out of my comfort zone.

These old barges on the river normally look quite dull and uninteresting (unless you particularly like old barges!) but yesterday's morning light and mist transformed them into something of real beauty.

"Light Transformed"

The cool thing about a camera sensor is that it captures light over time, which we cannot do since we observe light in real time. This is a composite of at least 4 long exposure images involving pond ice, a plastic snowflake, a laser pointer, various flashlights and an evening moon photo from last year. What does it conjure in your mind?

On a walk in the Botanic Gardens September 13, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.

Founded in 1863 with the planting of an English oak tree, the Christchurch Botanic Gardens have grown from small beginnings to become a much-loved destination for Cantabrians and visitors alike. Over the years natural wetlands and sand dunes have been transformed into an elegantly cultivated 30 hectare park with more than 10 different gardens framed by mature trees and expansive lawns, which are mostly contained within a loop of the Avon River.

In reconnecting with Draven I realized how transformative he is. Back when I met him originally and in the time I knew him he was always a very cool looking guy with a personality to match. I’d attribute some of it to his dad, with the wide variety of influences he’s mentioned from comics to music and movies to art. His name actually comes from one of his dad’s favourites,The Crow after the character Eric Draven. It wasn’t until recently when we reconnected that I began to look back at his photos, noticing the amount of looks he went through, always adapting to the next thing in his own way.

I found a real friend in Draven. We held similar interests and shared many friends. Social circles continually collided and meeting up was bound to happen frequently. At some point, like with so many, I saw him less. He moved out of Patrick’s house and off to North Vancouver to my understanding. From there I lost track of him, though the last time I did see him was at the Wired Monk in Fleetwood. I remember he was wearing a zootsuit and a motor head toque. The next time I saw him was due to less fortunate happenings, though while he was in town we got the chance to catch up before he went back to Kamloops where he’s been residing for a while now.

I miss him. I miss a lot of people. I want nothing more than to hold on to connections, but it’s hard. Hard to stay in touch. But it’s easy to reconnect. It really only takes a wave or nudge. The slight nostalgia helps. It’s easier to forget what you’ve got until it’s gone. Cherish your friendships and the time you have. It’ll make for better memories, and an easier time to reconnect to the people you care about.

Les Journees du Patrimoine 2016 - Recyclage des styles - Petit Chateau

Petit Chateau

[Sozinho - As 7 vidas no Gerês]

The cold, grey and windy day outside was transformed by the random ripples in the old glass.
