just got this figure today, I was never all that big into transformers, but war for cybertron changed that so I picked this guy up today and applied some weathering like I do with all armored badasses

She is new and work in progress i have more stuff to get up but its a start for now. I still have a ton of Trek stuff to get up on the shelves as well. Still lots to do!

We will continue looking at MiniMates today. They are on my mind, since I have immersed myself in the scale to try and make a quality diorama for them, which I have never had before.

Now it is time to look for some vehicles. The scale of MiniMates is between 1/35th and 1/24th scale. I some 1/24 scale models around, and they are a bit too tall for MiniMates. I do not have any 1/35 scale cars to use.

But I do have Transformers, and plenty of Transformers. I figured, why not look at the newest of the lot. The Titans Return figures.

As a vehicle, a Titans Return Deluxe Class figure works fine. The cockpit is too small, since it is made for a Titan Master that is about half as tall as a MiniMate. Too bad, no going for rides in the cabs of these vehicles. But from the outside, they work quite well.

Comparing the robot mode, this works well too. This could be the start of some pretty fun photography.

And as you continue to increase the scale of the Transformer, it works better with MiniMates. It is a good thing Colossus didn't attack Fort Max, thinking he was a Sentinel.

I feel like there are some Transformers that come out that were better thought out than others. Springer, and the retooled Sandstorm are two of those guys.

They are so well made. Great details, fun transformations, including a triple changing option to go from driving to flying.

And they are so vastly different from one another as well. Two fantastic figures.

Yepper my original copy of the vhs 86' Movie!

This is what's known as a lazy bastard custom (LBC) because it requires such minimal effort. Which I like, a lot. Basically I took a Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar and a Generations Junkheap and mixed/matched parts. The head itself is from a customizer known as MAIDEN JAPAN from the TFW2005 boards. Great stuff!

Top 6 Toys Of The Year (2015) - Generations Skywarp - #6

This mold has always been one of my favorites. It has pained me since 2013 - when I first started doing this, that I hadn’t had a chance to put either of the FOC Starscream or Thundercracker molds on my Toys of the Year list. I don’t know if this was a major oversight on my part...or maybe I picked them both up in 2012 which excluded them from being on that years list..whatever the reason may be - I finally fixed that.

I stumbled across Skywarp sometime last year (early 2015) at my closest Walmart. Revisiting this mold after a few years has solidified the FOC Seeker mold as one of my all time favorites. I’ve talked about my love affair with transforming robot jets on here before. This stems from a nostalgia filled glossy eyed bias towards Macross. Obviously this carried over to the seekers in Transformers.

Transforming jets have always been my jam and usually it’s the classic looking jets that get my attention, ambiguous space jets, not so much....BUT this mold is the one that made me change my mind, or at the very least - look past my nostalgia glasses. The pose-ability in robot mode is superb, the transformation is solid fun, and just the aesthetics alone in both modes make me ecstatic to own all three of the varieties this mold has to offer.

And now that I own all three variations (Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp), I can safely say that Skywarp sports my favorite colors of the bunch. The purple absolutely pops from around the black trim. Beautifully done all the way around.

One of my favs vintage and she still works!

A shot of Generations Thrust. A pompous, loud mouthed braggart of a warrior . His alt mode is said to be based on the prototype of an F-15 with VTOL capabilities.
