G1 Bumblebee and Bumblebee from Transformers Animated

Someone's ice-cream got stolen!

I repainted Soudwave and Laserbeak with the original G1 colors and I think they look way better now, specially Laserbeak.

I wish there was an Animated Ravage as well!

I didn't like the plain paint job the original Animated Waspinator had, so I repainted him with the Beast Wars color scheme.

Even though the mold isn't very accurate neither to Animated nor Beast Wars, he has a very cool look on his own and stands proud as my favorite Waspinator so far. Let's pray for a Universe Waspinator!

I went for a Predator look with this shot. I guess the Predacons Rising episode inspired this (remember those sounds Waspinator made?)

Posing with Robot Heroes Soundwave

Sick of being woobiefied :P

Transformers Animated had Soundwave's debut today. I nearly wept at his perfection.

Ok, there were many tears shed.

Soundwave: superior! In fact, he's gonna take Prime's plastic 52 slot this week.

Plastic 52, week 43.

Animated Deluxe Jetstorm

I had to build this as a composite from three different shots. Usually I wouldn't work that hard to get a show but I really liked this home-made costume. I had to combine the shots because people kept walking by on either side of Sarah and Starscream. As for the costume, I really like it. She has made a Transformer at least two years in a row. Last year she was a G1 Bumblebee. Way cool!

Prowl should try relaxing a bit. He takes himself and matters too seriously most of the time.

I have a confession to make: I've fallen in love with Transformers Animated. The toys rock!

God help me I'm turning into my reclusive, action-figure collecting uncle...

On the left, my custom Transformers Animated Windblade. On the right, Generations deluxe-class Windblade. This pair of fembots is pictured in their robot modes.

My custom homages her comic colors a bit more, but the official fan bot is still nice.

Cybertronian Race Car

TFA Blurr modeling his new (Monster High) necklace. I gave it to him because he's my fave. I hope the others won't be jealous ;)

Deluxe class Transformers Animated Brawn. Pictured in robot mode. This is yet another toy version of a character we never actually saw in stores.

This custom of mine has been in the works for at least two years (and is initially based on someone else's custom). Built from deluxe-class Soundwave, I originally started on Brawn's head when I built TFA Kup. As other projects came along, I'd work on new pieces like the fists or bumper. The head was rebuilt at least once. I just now got around to finishing him.

He has a new larger head, much larger fists, extended backpack, redesigned chest, altered shoulder tires, removable spare tire, and a new bumper for vehicle mode. He can still transform with all the new parts.

He isn't perfect, but he does a great job of matching the actual character model as best I could. This custom has the most changes of anything I've worked on up until this point.

Some concessions made are that due to his new larger fists, the interiors of his arms are essentially hollow. Therefore I have to keep the green vehicle panels facing forward or the illusion is broken.

Also, in these particular shots the clearance on the hands in vehicle mode is too tight. I didn't realize this until after he was painted. I'll most likely have to shrink his hips even further in order to fully fix him.

The Trannies come to grips with a newcomer.

A Transformers iterations group shot, from left to right: RofF Mixmaster, Kre-O Microchangers Sunstorm, Animated Blur, G1 Bluestreak and Fall of Cybertron Shockwave. What a mouthfull!

The Microchangers are cute as, will be getting more of them for sure.

Rounding up the other toys in the collection

Once again my buddy Andrew (Floating Cat on Flickr) does it again! Total bro, he hooked up a few of us local guys and literally created a grail! This figure never saw the light of day sans a few sales samples. Andrew painstakingly recreated the "production paint" look of the prototype even down the pins. Truly a master craftsman when it comes to his airbrush. My pictures do not do the finish justice. This is Thundercracker in robot mode.

I only own two TFA toys to date, Grimy and Bulky (voyager class). I'm surprised at how I grew to like these highly stylized figures (what do they call it... cartoon-network-style?) Still, bought them cheap. Between Leader and Voyager class Bulkhead, I chose the latter, probably because he is more proportionate and cartoon accurate (though his scale could've been bigger). Leader class legs are too long, and don't have head articulation.

I guess the idea for this pic is that Bulkhead has a flat tire and can't travel by veh mode. Hence he's trying to hitchhike. Unfortunately a green armoured carrier just ignored him and drove past... waitaminute...?

And yes, once again she proves her geek cred by watching Transformers on the way to Comic Con. And for those old-schoolers in the audience, she totally prefers G1.
