MLM (PR people call it Nauka) now stands tall and no one will have me believe that it cannot change into some kind of #transformers robot. The beauty of spaceflight is that everything has a precise technical function: white panels are radiators to keep everything at the right temperature in our extreme environment, the antenna on the top is for arriving Progress and Soyuz vehicle radar navigation (Kurs) and what looks like the eye of the cyclops is a docking port which will soon receive an airlock that is now on MRM-1. Tomorrow Oleg and Pyotr go on a spacewalk to start connecting power and Ethernet cables.

Or as I used to call them: my Cobra Rattler and Joe Sky Striker! I managed to keep Tailwind but I lost the other three in the set. Today my Nightflight arrived; a couple joints were loose but I tried the super glue trick and they're much stiffer now. I would like to get Whisper (the Stealth fighter) but Storm Cloud I can take or leave (the Dassault Rafale never did it for me) although he does have a cool lime green face...
They're very cute and have that chunky Micro Machines vibe (probably no accident that). I dare say that these were the last Transformers I got until the 2007 movie lines.
I don't normally leave a description but I felt like I wanted to let you know what it was about this seemingly ordinary image that stood out to me. If you look at the subjects face the timing of the passing bus window frames his right eye as if he were wearing a Transformers mask. That's it. The inferred contrast between normal guy having lunch and super hero jumped out at me when I was reviewing the images I took.
This shot was taken in Pittsburgh while I was teaching a street photography workshop recently. If you're interested in street photography you can check out DecisiveShot.com.

I'm very happy to show you this model finished, sorry for waiting.
This is a big model (4410 parts), the maximum length is almost 1 m. For this reason the internal structure is made with technic parts to keep the body lightweight and strong. Also there are gears and mechanisms that allow a wide range of movements, from the head to the tail.
It was totally built using Lego Digital Designer.
FEATURES
- free articulations on mouth, tongue, arms and tail
- 2 flex joints for each leg articulation (ankles and knees)
- turntable-worm gear for hips rotation
- turntable-worm gear for head rotation
- 2 linear actuators for head movement (up and down)
- easy removable dorsal ribs (for holding the model)
- an intimidating appearance

Hasbro, when producing Transformers

First model in a line of following Transformers creations.
Not all of them will be built with LEGO though.
On this character the colors did work too well to not give it a try.
Original from the asian Dorvack toyline Roadbuster was next to
Jetfire and Whirl one of the more advanced HASBRO Transformers releases.
Diecast and high detail transformation made them called Autobot Deluxe vehicles.
The new LEGO balljoints came handy for the transformation on the feet and body.
Also the new 1x2 curved slopes in dark brown made for a perfect headpiece.
Stay tuned for more model uploads very soon!
Have a great weekend!

After taking all these shots I realized that had I forgotten to put that purple thingy back on Devastator's chest ( it fell off in transit ) - oh well!
Maybe Godziila ripped it off?
