MLM (PR people call it Nauka) now stands tall and no one will have me believe that it cannot change into some kind of #transformers robot. The beauty of spaceflight is that everything has a precise technical function: white panels are radiators to keep everything at the right temperature in our extreme environment, the antenna on the top is for arriving Progress and Soyuz vehicle radar navigation (Kurs) and what looks like the eye of the cyclops is a docking port which will soon receive an airlock that is now on MRM-1. Tomorrow Oleg and Pyotr go on a spacewalk to start connecting power and Ethernet cables.

The transformation sequence. Transformers became more complicated since I was a child and recreating that in a small LEGO model is one of the more difficult things I've done with LEGO in while.
This was my last shot from last night - 75seconds. The bolt in the middle was the last strike and it must have hit a transformer. After the bolts were gone, the strike point on the ground lit up a brilliant green blue - just crazy...
I don't normally leave a description but I felt like I wanted to let you know what it was about this seemingly ordinary image that stood out to me. If you look at the subjects face the timing of the passing bus window frames his right eye as if he were wearing a Transformers mask. That's it. The inferred contrast between normal guy having lunch and super hero jumped out at me when I was reviewing the images I took.
This shot was taken in Pittsburgh while I was teaching a street photography workshop recently. If you're interested in street photography you can check out DecisiveShot.com.
Feeling inspired by Isaiah Takahasi's photography and effects, so had a go with a Transformer and a kettle!

I'm very happy to show you this model finished, sorry for waiting.
This is a big model (4410 parts), the maximum length is almost 1 m. For this reason the internal structure is made with technic parts to keep the body lightweight and strong. Also there are gears and mechanisms that allow a wide range of movements, from the head to the tail.
It was totally built using Lego Digital Designer.
FEATURES
- free articulations on mouth, tongue, arms and tail
- 2 flex joints for each leg articulation (ankles and knees)
- turntable-worm gear for hips rotation
- turntable-worm gear for head rotation
- 2 linear actuators for head movement (up and down)
- easy removable dorsal ribs (for holding the model)
- an intimidating appearance

Hasbro, when producing Transformers
legolized (kre-olized) they at least should TRANSFORM !
After my first version a couple of years ago i thought i give him the right colors and scale him down a bit.
He´s one of my favorite TF
models so far.
The jet mode is supposed to be a F-15
even when the shape is not perfect,
i hope you get the idea and like this
legolized Starscream.
Building both digital and physical at the same time,
to finalize a few more Transformers models.
This theme never seems to let go of me.
With so many characters that fit the Lego color palette,
it will be another decade of building i guess :D
Another Transformers model done physical and digital.
Blaster is defo one of my favorite characters, very simple transformation, but fun.
Transformers Energon Combat Class Kicker with Highwire from Hasbro and Transformers Superlink SC-14 Microman Kicker from Takara
First model in a line of following Transformers creations.
Not all of them will be built with LEGO though.
On this character the colors did work too well to not give it a try.
Original from the asian Dorvack toyline Roadbuster was next to
Jetfire and Whirl one of the more advanced HASBRO Transformers releases.
Diecast and high detail transformation made them called Autobot Deluxe vehicles.
The new LEGO balljoints came handy for the transformation on the feet and body.
Also the new 1x2 curved slopes in dark brown made for a perfect headpiece.
Stay tuned for more model uploads very soon!
Have a great weekend!

I saw this working come up on RTT but didn't know what it was as it just said 'Civil Engineer' or some such. When it came around the corner into platform 5 at Willesden Junction it looked like something out of the Transformers! Apparently it's a Linsinger Rail Milling Machine. It looked like their were two of them back to back. Or was it four?
