“Dragonflies are reminders that we are light and we can reflect light in powerful ways if we choose to do so.”
― Robyn Nola
I discovered this dragonfly nymph shell up at the lake this past August. Dragonflies are one of my favourite insects, and until recently, I didn’t realize that they went through a transformation (metamorphosis) similar to butterflies. Beautiful symbolism.
One of my favorite trees along the banks of River Werre in early November. Still quite green but brown is coming up. Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany

Artists: JAN HERRMANN & TIM SCHMEER
Just discovered these cute lil creatures at Fantasy Faire and they are tons of fun. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter.
From this picture you can see the transformation of Vancouver city, from the countryside to urban area, the booming housing market is the reason, from conservative side not everyone like it 從這張照片中我們可以看到明顯的都市變遷,從鄉村到都會,炙熱的地產市場是主要原因,並非每個人都喜歡這種變遷
The American goldfinch (Spinus tristis), also known as the eastern goldfinch or "lightning bird," is a small North American bird in the finch family. It is migratory, ranging from mid-Alberta to North Carolina during the breeding season, and from just south of the Canada–United States border to Mexico during the winter.
The American is the only finch in its subfamily to undergo a complete molt, the American goldfinch displays sexual dimorphism in its coloration; the male is a vibrant yellow in the summer and an olive color during the winter, while the female is a dull yellow-brown shade which brightens only slightly during the summer. The male displays brightly colored plumage during the breeding season to attract a mate. I particularly like this winter picture of a male goldfinch because it resembles an oil painting I have; in the left lower corner I added a picture I took of the same bird in summer to show the amazing color transformation that takes place.
I think I didn't tell you the story of my new girl, another Mia (Winter Vacation)!
For those of you that don't know, my first Mia (Witch of the Note) really like animals. She usually feed some during her woodland walks. In particular, this bunny. Eventually, she deciced to use her power as a witch to transform it into a real girl and here is the result! The new girl still has some features of rabbit, though.
BTW, I made the picnic table ^_^

Evening light filters thru the tree canopy to showcase the pine tree undergoing a dress change of fresh needles. Just gorgeous.

This is another picture of Dale (Milford Haven) taken from The Gann. The day started with a sea fog, but as the morning passed the sun burned off the fog. However, it it did not simply disappear; it lifted. What I can't say is whether it cleared to reveal a cloudy sky or did it go on to form the clouds.
acrylic on board
paintings are elsewhere now..
but I think the narrow panels are about 20cm wide.
I've been cleaning up some of my painting presentation on flickr and thought I'd include these... all taken by different cameras at different times.. alas without great quality control.
In reality it's not a single work.. but a combination of three older paintings: green tea, an untame afternoon tea, & common transformations.
a bit of triptych fever ;-)

I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naïve or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.

This gnarly hawthorn tree would not have got a second glance without the help of this little flurry snow, now it has been transformed. All I had to do was to get some sort of separation from the chaos around it.

Will you read me the story of the Frog King Oleg?
OLEG:
I'm not very good at reading a story aloud, then you should ask Paddy or Orson for it.

PETER:
Please Oleg...You just have to read out the beginning and the end of the story.
OLEG:
Well...give me that book then
(Oleg starts reading)
Once upon a time there was a princess
PETER:
The princess is Princess Rosie
OLEG:
Ok...again
Once upon a time, there was a princess called Rosie.
Princess Rosie, when it is hot, often goes to play by the well under the old lime tree in the dark forest near the castle. There it is cool. Princess Rosie often plays with a golden ball and one day the ball falls into a deep well. A frog hears her crying and wants to get the ball out of the well for her. He wants friendship with Princess Rosie as a reward
The frog gives her the ball and Princess Rosie runs away without saying anything.
PETER:
My princess Rosie would never do that
OLEG:
I tell on
The next day, the frog stands at the door of the castle and is let in
by the princess's father. Princess Rosie and the frog eat together from a golden plate and she takes the frog to her bedroom.
When the frog accidentally touches her cheek, it turns into a beautiful prince
PETER:
That's me, that's me!!! I am the prince
OLEG:
The prince....eh...I mean Prince Peter and Princess Rosie fall in love and they lived happily ever after.
PETER:
How could I be a frog
I don't get that.
OLEG:
Well....an ugly old witch had turned the prince into a frog and only the princess could free him from the well.
PETER:
Hehe...that witch was you Oleg
OLEG:
Peter!!! I am not old and ugly
PETER:
If you look angry you are
Can you read that last line again Oleg
Oleg reads the last line again.
PETER:
One more time Oleg!
OLEG:
Now I think it's enough
Thank you www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/ for the use of Rosie's image in my photo montage.
