The focus of the conference “Accelerating 3D in the common European data space for cultural heritage: Why 3D matters“ was the why and wherefores of 3D in digital cultural heritage: why 3D matters; diversity and variety of content suitable for 3D digitisation; sharing best practices, and much more.
This Europeana conference under the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU took place on 18 April 2023. The conference was hosted by the Museum of Ethnography in Stockholm and online. This hybrid event was made possible thanks to the support of the Swedish Ministry of Culture, and was organised in collaboration with the Swedish National Heritage Board.
Transformation Tuesday? Standard Signal Company mechanical dwarf has gotten a new GRS Spec with new lenses, still on the fence with the long porcelain blade that needs to be restored but for now it sports an unpainted rubber blade and has a GRS lamp. “Reflecting Transformation” was installed in the (yet to be leased) retail space of The Caledonia under the recently opened High Line Park. Inspired by the re-gentrification of the meat packing area and the renovation of the High Line, ”Reflecting Transformation” was organized to reference this urban regeneration and play on the theme of transformation of space and character. In a minimalist aesthetic, the exhibition also alluded to the healing nature that art can have on a community.
