Built by Star Shipyards (Mercer's) Ltd. of New Westminster, BC, in 1944 for the RCAF she was originally named M-468 SONGHEE after the First Nations group Songee. She was an RCAF supply vessel tasked with provisioning and providing personnel transport to RCAF coastal radar outposts. Taken over by the RCN, she became HMCS SONGHEE, pendant number YPT1 / YMR1 for a brief period before transferring to the auxiliary fleet. In 1961 SONGHEE was used to conduct an extensive site survey for the establishment of the Patricia Bay Under Water Range. Removed from service in 1990, she was then sold to commercial interests. In 2011, she was working out of Duncan BC providing charters and tours. SONGHEE, owned by Jim Roome of Vancouver Island, was purchased by QCL in 2012 to be part of their fishing lodge experience. They renamed her MV Driftwood - to maintain the familiarity their customers had with their previous vessel named Driftwood. . It should be mentioned, the the former QCL vessel, MV Driftwood (sold prior to the purchase and renaming of the original SONGHEE), is still in service and her new owners renamed her SONGHEE.
Rio Grande SD9 No. 5310 and two siblings pull a Short Line Transfer from UP North Yard in Salt Lake City into Roper Yard in South Salt Lake on Aug. 11, 1979.

In Épinay sur Seine aan de noordkant van Parijs kan overgestapt worden van tramlijn T8 in de tram-train-stellen van T11. Terwijl T8 door het Parijse vervoerbedrijf RATP geëxploiteerd wordt, voert de Franse firma Keolis in samenwerking met de spoorwegmaatschappij SNCF de dienst op tramlijn T11 uit.
Tram 807 is een door Alstom geleverde Citadis vom 302. Tramlijn T8 is een klassieke tramlijn. De expres-trams van T11 rijden over de Tangentielle Nord dat is het noordelijke deel van de voorheen vooral voor het goederenvervoer van de SNCF gebruikte Grande Ceinture rond Parijs. Op T11 worden eveneens door Alstom geleverde tweesysteemtrams Citadis Dualis (U 53600) gebruikt.

After shooting this Twin Cities and Western Railroad transfer departing CPKC's St. Paul yard as seen here: flic.kr/p/2oGDatk we tried to chase them, but they absolutely FLEW across town and we only barely made it in time to grab one more shot of them. They are crossing the Mississippi River at about MP 10.6 BNSF's ex Great Northern Wayzata Sub mainline in this view looking down off the North 1st Street overpass in downtown Minneapolis as they make their way toward Cedar Lake Junction ultimately headed back to Hopkins on home rails of their former Milwaukee Road mainline. The track diverging in the foreground leads to the Target Field Station platforms used by Northstar commuter trains.
The matching quartet of rebuilt GP38-2s (all rebuilt from former NS high hood straight GP38s of NW or SOU provenance) is marred only by unrepainted TCWR 3516 still in its leaser scheme. This is a unique rebuilt GP20C that was originally built as a GP20 in
Feb. 1961 as CBQ 901 and probably passed this way in a past life dressed in Cascade Green!

Food transfer between Peregrine Falcon parents during nesting season. During this time, most of the food are hunted by the male then given to the female to feed the chicks.

4532, 442s2 and CLP12 pass through Menangle as 6SM5 wagon transfer to Victoria. The wagons were off to Victoria to be converted to Broad Gauge, the locmotives were off to Cootamundra for maintenance.

Yard transfer Y HOU185 makes its way through Houston's Magnolia Park neighborhood down UP's Booth Yard Industrial Lead, a short link between Booth Yard and the East Belt Sub.

Veterans B75 and 44206 are seen leading Waratah set A34 earlier in the day, heading through Thornleigh here as train 4178. This EMU is being transferred from Cardiff workshops to Auburn Maintenance Centre, and the diesel haulage is due to the lack of electrified roads at Cardiff and qualified crew to make the journey.
EMD B75 comes in at a whopping 71 years of service, with Alco 44206 not far behind with 53 years under it's belt.
Thanks to the recent rain and warm temperatures there was a bit more growth in the foreground here than I was hoping for.
Iowa Interstate's mostly daily transfer to the CPKC at West Davenport pulls in the yard with a pair of SD38-2's and three cars for delivery. They'll end up pulling over 30 cars, putting the EMD's to work on the return trip.

UP 1356, which started life in the Rockies as DRGW 3103, finds itself working on far flatter ground as it pulls a transfer run between UP's Eureka and Englewood Yards in Houston.

Grand Trunk Western SD40 5900 is northbound on the IHB at 31st St. in La Grange Park with a transfer run to Proviso or the Milwaukee at Bensenville. August 1989.
The evening transfer from BNSF's 28th Street Yard to Rice's Point in Duluth sported a pair of SDs here on June 5, 2019. BNSF 1568 and 1986 catch a few rays of light right before sun ducks behind the hills of Duluth. Even the former Santa Fe SD45-2 (now a SD40-2R) leader looks rather diminutive on the wooden approach trestle to the Grassy Point swingbridge, crossing here from Wisconsin to Minnesota.
On a cold evening at Blue Island Junction, Indiana Harbor Belt 4019 leads what is probably a Blue Island - Clearing transfer while the tail end of a CSX ethanol train on the Barr Sub clears the junction.
TEM2-271 brings forward empty coal hoppers from the Pątnów power station exchange yard alongside the Przemysława road for the nine kilometre transfer to Konin and the connection with the PKP. The train has been split into portions of ten and eleven wagons for transfer from here to the power station, a short journey of around two kilometres top and tailed by the KWB Konin Browncoal railway EL2 electrics. March the 9th 2023.
This 1986 built locomotive belongs to leaser PHU Locomotive based in South Eastern Poland, with its repair shops at Stalowa Wola near Rzeszów.
