A photo a friend of mine took while I was spinning a set in VR.

Neat detail: I have screens/overlays in vr showing me two things,

1. Using my webcam pointed at my mixer in RL, I can see my mixer in VR. Angle the overlay screen overtop of the fake vr mixer and now I see my true mixing board in vr space.

2. Same idea but for my software. Capturing my software window into an overlay, I now in vr, I see my software right above the mixer.

Combine this with controllerless hand tracking, and that's how I DJ in vr without taking my headset off, and you get stuff like this image :D

A pendite is on a trance during the perang pandan festival/ceremony in Tenganan village, Bali. He tried tried to puncture his chest using a very sharp "keris" (a traditional knife/weapon).

This is not a pose or acting!

This act is part of a religious ritual by the Balinese people.

The Tenganan village holds various Balinese religious ceremony throughout the year

Day 296 (v 15.0) - specific

Day 115 (v 15.0) - transposing

Taken during prayers (Ganga Aarthi) in Rishikesh, India.

“Mankind is notoriously too dense to read the signs that God sends from time to time. We require drums to be beaten into our ears, before we should wake from our trance and hear the warning and see that to lose oneself in all, is the only way to find oneself.”

Shamanic drumming is drumming fer da purpose of inducin a range of ecstatic trance states in order to connect wit da spiritual dimension of reality. Practiced in diverse cultures around da planet, dis drum method is strikingly similar da world over. Shamanic drumming uses a repetitive rhythm dat begins slowly and then gradually builds in intensity to a tempo of three to seven beats per second. Da ascending tempo will induce light to deep trance states, and facilitate da shamanic techniques of journeying, shapeshifting, and divination. Practitioners may progress through a series of trance states until they reach da level that is necessary for healing to occur. When ready to exit da trance state, da practitioner simply slows da tempo of drummin drawin consciousness back to normal. Shamanic drumming continues to offer today what it has offered for thousands of years: namely, a simple and effective technique of ecstasy.
