An unusual residue of a previous snowstorm resulted in a snowy edge to "mark the trail" in Nelson Park (Sterling Heights, Michigan).
The most unusual aspect was not the nature trail markings, but the sun and blue sky, something that was not seen around here for quite awhile.
Not a brand new trail, but I was the first one to take it that day as evidenced by the unperturbed snow here

Road plows are out early to insure the roads for the traveling public and local railfans are cleared and safe to travel. Here we find a Dodge County MACK truck equipped with a plow, clearing Walton Road outside of Richwood. Be sure to give these workers plenty of room to do their work and keep us all moving along safely.

The baby is back! Sailing the seven seas in style, too. Inspiration for this one came from a friend who loves anchors. Personally I think it's one of the best ships I ever built, one of the few that I looked up for accuracy - it's a galleon, but hopefully that was obvious.

This photo was taken at South Haven, Michigan early Summer 2016. The woman is my oldest sister Amy Olivares. Amy is a visiting Spanish Professor at GVSU.
The beloved baby returns to fix the world's food shortages, one ear of corn at a time.
There was a time when I knew exactly what model John Deere this was (while I was copying it), but that time is long gone. Anyway, it was inspired by and built for my Grandfather, who grew up on a farm and still owns one today!

Trailblazers for Interstate 95, US 17, and US 1 at the Spotsylvania interchange. I-95 and US 17 duplex for the next 10 miles before splitting in Stafford County.

Location: Casere [German: Kasern], in the Aurina Valley [German: Ahrntal] (South Tyrol - Italy).
Subject: This is an elderly inhabitant of the valley I met on a trail, in front of a medieval little church, during a press tour. He was a volunteer, whose task was to cram the snow with his snowshoes, walking to-and-fro along the trail, to make easier for visitors to reach the church.

Most of you will know by now, how much I love playing with light.
Well, these was one of these 'sessions', when imagination and creativity joined in the studio.
These lights, plastic tubes filled with little lights, had 'entertained' us the whole Summer in the garden.
It seemed silly to leave them out now, so, in they came!
Then, something happened, I saw them and thought, now wait a minute, what if, euhhh, yes, do this, try that?
I was thrilled now, and started to try ALL sorts...
Here I'm using 2 tubes, I tried different techniques with the studio-lights. Love a challenge, and it was.
To freeze me = washed out the lights too much.
So, the old joke was always that photographers do it in the dark! Here's PROOF!IN AUTUMN DARKNESS... A ROSE
These are the best, hah, sigh, what a great time I had and glad with the results.
Wish you many moments like this, photography can do that for you eh?
