Cvent recently unveiled its new and bigger booth at GBTA 2011, which allowed for over 300 meetings to take place at the show. To kick things off, Cvent rented out the Corner Office for a reception with over 350 of its closest friends in the industry.
I go to trade shows to talk shop with vendors and get hands on with the gear they bring to the show. It's a serious, if occasionally tedious business.
However, I can't *stand* the crowds of attendee-dorks who waddle around from booth to booth stuffing every possible freebie into already stuffed pockets and bags. Yesterday I was in the middle of an interesting conversation with a vendor of NAS acceleration devices when one of these zombies pushed between us to grab a *free pen* from a bowl. He stuck the pen in a bag and moved on to his next target, never once making eye contact with anyone.
For a couple of years now I've refused to take anything home from a show because of these people.
