I used the telephoto to take this one. The tracks don't look real twisted at sharp angles when you are there looking at them normally.

old set of train tracks. They still run one or two small trains on here to a few factories in the distance

Omas track hubs, NOS but unlaced and never used. The front is 100mm - 180gr and 28 holes, the rear is 120mm - 273gr and 32 holes. Threads are 35 x 24 f. They have sealed ball bearings.

Art. n° 1100/A front & 1100/P rear

Also made in 24-28-32-36 holes and on request made with 34,7 x 1 or 1,370 x 24 Tpi BSC threads.

The second shot that captures the track against the still train. Changing up the focal point, the foreground becomes in focus. This makes the strong line from the track lead your eye throw the photo and the train becomes part of the background.

It was a really cold day in NYC waiting for the subway at this outdoor station with snow covered tracks.

TRACK is a unique art experience in the public and semi public space of the city of Ghent. It offers surprising, enriching and unexpected encounters with the city, its history and its inhabitants and incites to reflect upon urban realities and the contemporary human condition in a broader sense. 41 international artists were invited to conceive new art works that are strongly rooted in the urban fabric of Ghent but link the local context with issues of global significance.

Quality Track Meeting: 'Accreditation as an engine for Improvement' (Bangkok, Thailand)

Seen at the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton, Ohio. From the Museum’s description:

“The M3 half-track is an armored personnel carrier that was used extensively by the U.S. Army and its Allies during WW2 … This particular M3 was produced by the White Motor Company of Cleveland, Ohio.

After the War many M3’s continued to see active service with numerous Armed Forces all over the World with some still in use to this day. This particular half-track was operated by the Israeli Defense Force and modified with the addition of a 30 caliber machine gun installed in place of the passenger front window. This M3 saw extensive service with the IDF and was actively involved in numerous combat engagements. It was sold surplus to the current owner who restored it to its original WWII U.S. Army configuration while retaining the IDF installed 30 cal machine gun passenger window mount …

Crew: 1 driver and 12 passengers …

The front roller is designed to keep the vehicle from getting stuck in a ditch or gully or debris by keeping the front end from getting buried. The armor thickness varies from 6-12 mm to protect the crew from small arms fire and shrapnel.

This is another shot I took of the train track.

I used a shallow depth of field in the hope to not give too much of the background away and to keep attention on the train track itself.

Again I used a high contrast and structural black and white to give effect to the picture.

Hope you all like it.
