The 4th Annual ART-of-Motion exhibit set the Washington Auto Show on fire from the main lobby to the 3rd floor of the Walter E. Washington Convention. Curated by trendsetting urban automotive media group Automotive Rhythms (AR), the space consisted of engaging and creative eye candy including motorcycles, slingshots, luxury autos, electric cars, fashion, murals and plenty of music that turned the car show into a family friendly party zone. The emphasis was centered on AR’s talented cadre of painters who showcased visual skills live for attendees to witness and enjoy as vinyl wrapped rides were literally transformed into arts of motion.

I had an amazing time in Carmel Valley, CA with Fit Fathers and Automotive Rhythms exploring the attributes of the 5th generation 2019 Toyota RAV4 while enjoying wilderness activities such as trail running and meditating with Mother Nature from the exquisite grounds of Carmel Valley Ranch. Representing as Toyota’s best seller, the CUV’s edgier exterior styling is pretty prolific while featuring a new grille, higher clearance, wider body, Dynamic Torque Vectoring, panoramic moonroof and much more. Inside you’ll find added legroom, unique trim highlights, soft touch materials, Verizon WiFi connectivity and an upgraded JBL premium 11-speaker, 800-watt audio system with Clari-Fi sound restoration technology and A-pillar horn tweeters
With their Christmas toy aisles filled with One Two Fun branded Maisto models I did go a bit mad buying up plenty whilst shopping at various Alcampo stores whilst out in Spain recently. Cheap but oh so cheerful with barely a generic in sight I definitely homed in on this brand new recoloured 2022 Toyota RAV4. Still quite a new casting in Maisto years and another vehicle choice they got to model before Matchbox and one which beats it in terms of size.

Time to go home. Time to call this Monday and rest for the evening. Poor RAV4 driver has to wait just a little bit longer to head northwest on Milwaukee Avenue.

With every successive generation of Toyota RAV4 getting bigger, blander but more premium focused its sometimes easy to forget that the original version from the mid 1990's was actually quite an advanced and dare I say even funky looking vehicle which looked like nothing else on the road at the time. That bold rounded styling probably explains why you are more likely to see this first generation RAV4 in a toy makers line up than any other. This is Xin Mei Qi's version which although is a cheapo unlicensed casting still manages to convey that original freshness especially in this rather loud "Bad Boy" livery and neon orange colour scheme. Chunky, fairly robust with gleaming white plastic lights and grille this is a decent effort from a little known Chinese toy maker. Part of a 20 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
A lot of Far Eastern manufacturers have left their cheapo non licensed castings behind and introduced amazingly well cast and detailed 1/64 models which make a lot of current Hot Wheels and Matchbox models looking quite amateurish! High Speed have in the last decade or so massively improved their 1/64 models as can be seen in this Toyota RAV4. Highly detailed interior and exterior features but still at a low price! Mint and boxed.
