Belém Tower is a fortified tower located in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery)because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime discoveries of the era of the Age of Discoveries. The tower was commissioned by King John II to be part of a defence system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.
The tower was built in the early 16th century and is a prominent example of the Portuguese Manueline style, but it also incorporates hints of other architectural styles] The structure was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and a 30-metre (98.4 ft), four-storey tower. It has incorrectly been stated that the tower was built in the middle of the Tagus and now sits near the shore because the river was redirected after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. In fact, the tower was built on a small island in the Tagus River near the Lisbon shore

Broadway Tower is a folly on Broadway Hill, near the large village of Broadway, in the English county of Worcestershire, at the second-highest point of the Cotswolds (after Cleeve Hill). Broadway Tower's base is 1,024 feet (312 metres) above sea level. The tower itself stands 65 feet (20 metres) high.
The 'Saxon' tower was the brainchild of Capability Brown and designed by James Wyatt in 1794 in the form of a castle, and built for Lady Coventry in 1798–1799. The tower was built on a beacon hill, where beacons were lit on special occasions. Lady Coventry wondered whether a beacon on this hill could be seen from her house in Worcester — about 22 miles (35 km) away — and sponsored the construction of the folly to find out. Indeed, the beacon could be seen clearly.

Vor den Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur zu stehen ist sehr beeinruckend. Die Fassade ist toll gemacht. und ergibt ein Gesamtkunstwerk.
Standing before the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur is very impressive. The facade is great. And gives a total work of art.
As I'm busy with work and real life getting in the way this weekend I won't be able to get out with the camera. So here's another shot from my trip to London in November. Taken as the sun was rising on a very cold morning on the South Bank. Probably London's most iconic bridge which is often mistaken as "London" Bridge.
This superb massif of roses was too tempting, especially with the beautiful Provencal bell tower in the background!

Perched on a hill above the village of Llanarthne, Paxton’s Tower looks out on the Towy Valley. Built over 200 years ago, the majestic tower is in fact a folly built in memorial to Admiral Lord Nelson and to impress the people of the valley.
the tower lights up ...
soar.....
pierce the clouds ...
like the devil who is watching us from feeling ...
the tower lights up ..
once or twice the crows hover over it ...
like sending a message from the world of death ...
ahhh ... the tower is still burning ...
keep an eye on our lives ...
