I have shot other trucks at this gas station. He changes them every once in a while. This is a really old truck - looks 30's.

Illinois River barge handling facility, Lacon Illinois. This is some of my cheesy eye candy type stuff. Even Lee Friedlander did a little of this Kodak type stuff. Hey, the calendar people need images. :-)
This old rusted tow truck looks like it grabbed a car and got stuck in the field and time!

As I searched around my house for things that might be ugli-eautiful, I found some nice old die cast metal cars. At that moment I found my Wabi-sabi thing.

This tow was 8 miles from a paved road. Far outside AAA and other Roadside assistance programs coverage area.

Found this beautiful golden colored tow truck -looks like it could be still in use but parked where it is probably more ornamental.

Someone doesn care about the fact this is a tow away zone, he was going to park his lazy butt here all day. He eve looks away from you when you try to talk to him.
After the day started a bit cold (okay, rather frosty), he put in a lot of effort the rest of the day to make me feel comfortable here in Hamburg.
Twelve hours and what feels like a 20 km walk (and at least 50 photos) later, I'm back at the Landungsbrücken and thus ending my tour.
I am going back tomorrow. I give myself the sunrise. I have enough good pictures with me to allow myself to sleep in tomorrow morning.
Nachdem der Tag etwas unterkühlt (ok eher frostig) gestartet ist, hat er sich den Rest des Tages doch ziemlich Mühe gegeben, damit ich mich hier in Hamburg wohl fühle.
Zwölf Stunden und gefühlt 20 km Fußmarsch (und mindestens 50 Fotos) später stehe ich nun wieder an den Landungsbrücken und beende damit meine Tour.
Morgen gehts wieder zurück. Den Sonnenaufgang schenke ich mir. Ich hab ausreichend gute Bilder dabei um morgen früh ausschlafen zu dürfen.

BNSF westbound empty ethanol train U-MIIMXN7-28A (Mitchell, Illinois to Mina, South Dakota) passes the m/v Roberta Tabor at Trempealeau, Wisconsin. The southbound Tabor is holding at the usual waiting spot while another tow locks through Lock 6 northbound.
