Stone Rhyming Zone: Cyclone
The Flickr Lounge: Kitchen Accessories
In a land where milk and honey flow, not even a cyclone is dangerous for you. Well, maybe for your waistline. This is a vanilla soy milk / dark chocolate nibs cyclone from my milk frother (please see first comment). Normally I'm using chocolate soy milk for my coffee, but it was sold out for the weekend, so I went for vanilla and added chili chocolate nibs (used for hot chocolate).
Captured from above, handheld (with camera mounted on table top tripod which I put against my chest for stabilisation, and I was pressing my head against the cupboard, standing on tiptoes, though), wide open aperture (f2.8), regular kitchen light. The "eye" is the small black wisk wheel (size: 3 cm in diameter [1,18 inches]). Needless to say, this is not SOOC. I enhanced clarity and structure in LR and Nik's Viveza, and used the "Detail Extractor" filter in Color Efex.
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone! Have a great week ahead!
Thank you for your comments and faves, they are always highly appreciated!

yes I know that's not the words....but hey, I'm not clever enough to come up with something better...anyway, this is my homage to those hazy, crazy weekends of the nineties...in my case though usually the ceiling going round...rotating tourbillion of an automatic watch btw
old watches are the best!...single shot, no stacking, very little processing other than the addition of a subtle vignette...a good macro lens makes all the difference...

The water tanker Aquon Irrinuuga holds short of the Tourbillion Orbital Exchange over Titan.
“Irrinuuga, this is Tourbillion Crimson Horse. All vessels approaching the Exchange are now subject to inspection. Stand to and prepare to receive a shuttle.”
Known as the 'Redblade' owing to its central fin design, the Tourbillion Mining Group have long utilised this modular 'twin pod' vessel for scouting and sampling asteroids. The design has been modified over the years to fulfil a broader range of requirements though and with the advent of piracy and the need to defend mining operations, Tourbillion found arming the port-side equipment pod an easier and significantly cheaper option than developing a bespoke defence vessel.

This image features another light display from my Puyallup Fair series. I am starting to reach the completion of these and am already excited for the next fair and a chance to try new captures and add to this already colorful series. I really enjoy the colors, shadows, and light that came to fruition in this long exposure. The lines at the bottom remind me of the old 3D virtual reality grids back from the 1990s. This image was captured in September 2009 with my Nikon D90. Enjoy!
As I was complaining about the current state of my mind/life, a friend of mine said that I should take heart because her specialty was complications. I laughed. I also commented that mechanical watches have in them what are called complications like the tourbillion which helps negate the effects of gravity on a watch or the perpetual calendar which takes into account varying days in months and leap years and of course there is the chronograph, we know what that does. All these are achieved mechanically. This is why I love watches.
The more complications you have in a mechanical watch the more valuable it is. Pity its not the case for people. I wish it were. My complications abound.
Anyway, here is where the rant ties to the image, this from R.D. Laing in Knots

I was looking through my book of American warplanes, and I started reading the section about the TBF Avenger. That's a cool plane, I thought, why not use that as inspiration instead of some crazy overengineered German thing? So I set out to build a TBF Avenger... And got decently close, until I hit the back half of the canopy. Then it turned into something more like the TBD Devastator. Which is still okay, I've always liked those for whatever reason.
In short, it's a carrier-borne light bomber. More for rocket and bomb attacks than torpedo fun, but it can do torpedoes too. Like Tornade Maelstrom, Tourbillion has two 30mms for ground attack, but only one cowling-mounted 20mm. For the pilot's morale, mostly. In the back is one 12.7mm machine gun. There are eight rockets, one xboxhuge bomb, and eight little bombs. Probably no more than 100 pounds each.

This is one from Hiroshige's woodblock print series Views of Famous Places in Sixty-Odd Provinces. It depicts the famous whirlpools at Naruto in the Awa Province.
I have three Michele Wilson puzzles that I bought many years ago. Back then I didn't think to take photos of completed puzzles. I have just revisited this one and took these photos. One of the things I like about wooden puzzles is they lend themselves to being done over again.
I like the colour-line cutting in this puzzle particularly in the whirlpool.
