'Well' , said squirrel, 'That's breakfast sorted'.

A few moments later he was away - another little moment in my garden.

Everything eventually succumbs to the rigors of the high-desert of Southern Utah.

I suppose what attracts me to images of western dead trees is the evidence of a life of willful endurance so openly exposed in their texture and shape. These roots and branches are so twisted and wrought in order to make their way to life sustaining nutrients, hold fast during intense storms and enable this life to take advantage of beautiful days when the skies are clear, the sun is bright, the winds are calm, and the soil is fertile.

Most of us don't think of trees as much more than inanimate objects. What I see here is an aggressive, zealous approach to life, built over decades, which - when it did end, for whatever reason - did not go quietly into that good night.

I foolishly thought at 9:00 PM this overpass would be an easy shot without people. Boy was I wrong!

This is a connector between the MRT (underground) and Airport Rail Link and was jammed packed with people. This one took 45 minutes to get a people free shot. A reasonable person would have given up after a minute or two as the scene is OK but not great

It's tough being a Sparrow with so many variations and so many so close in similarity you can't always be immediately identified. There are over 30 subspecies and then you add in male/female markings, winter and summer patterns.

This was found in a field on edge of woods.

Oak is not commonly thought of as tough enough for our Prairie climate. But there is one species that excels, even in our cold winters.

The only oak indigenous to the Canadian Prairies, the bur is tough and majestic.

The leaves of bur oak are an attractive, rich green and have distinctive, deep lobes. In autumn, they turn an antique yellow that, sadly, can only be enjoyed briefly, as they tend to drop fairly quickly

I could hardly stand up in the wind. These little grasses and shrubs seem to thrive in tough coastal conditions and probably hinder erosion.

As you can see that after the look she gave him she really let him have it, and the shriek I swear could be heard for 2 counties, even the baby that was visible tried to hide, and it was just wonderful see and to witness behavior like this with these magnificent animals.

Have a great day and thank you for visiting.

Not to many more for this Eagle series folks I promise.

This is the eighth shot in the Bald Eagle sequence (Intense, That Snow is Deep, Here I Come, Looking Mean, Preflight Check, Flaps Up, We Have Liftoff) as the eagle heads into the mix to steal a fish. Photographed at the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.

The orange tabby is Jimmy; the cat on the right is Cricket.

It hasn't snowed here in such a long time, yesterday was a beautiful surprise. (for the "12 Months For Dogs" group). Brady wasn't quite sure what to make of it...

I want to thank you all for your comments and emails about Riley. It's been a tough time here, but your thoughtful words mean more than you can imagine. I will be around to visit soon, but in the meantime, please know how appreciative I am of your compassion and kindness.

This is an unpublished image of a serval that I spotted on my 2019 trip to the Masai Mara region of Kenya.

They are hard to find as they aren't super common. I've been fortunate enough to have seen a couple on two trips to the region(although none last time).

Stormy weather passing over the Petrified Forest there in Arizona.

Took a bike ride around the village of Ninh Binh as part of the tour. It has been raining all day and the roads were wet and slippery. Glad to make out of the 30-minute ride without going into the ditch or crashing into someone.

Budweiser's Dalmatian anxious to go.

Adult male Ruby-throated Hummingbird perched in the garden. He spends his days feeding, fighting, and chasing the ladies. What a life! lol I'm glad he stopped by to show off that beautiful red gorget. I'm glad you stopped by, too. Thanks for the visits, faves, and comments. They are much appreciated.

I usually visit this place every year, but this time I got lucky and some nice light shone through the misty morning. It created a pastel look that I like.

Last Friday night, I took some shots of the McCoys playing one of their best games of the season and defeating Thorold Athletics in Allan Cup Hockey at the JL Grightmire Arena. It was a tough game for them, and not an easy task for me to follow fast moving players with the camera. The only option was shooting through the glass. Watching the shutter speed in poor lighting condition was very challenging as well. Oh Boy! Some players were real acrobats, just air born!! Wow! What a game!!! Enjoy it!

Thanks for your visits and comments.
