Japan photography featuring the beautiful floating torii gate of Miyajima Island. This print is black and white with a soft water effect which is created from long exposure. Motion from the tide creates a natural blurring effect as the camera gradually takes the picture over the span of a few minutes. In order to create a photograph like this, a tripod, light-blocking filter, remote shutter control and tons of patience are required. I spent the entire day on Miyajima Island, waiting for an opportunity to bring you the perfect shot.
One of the most photographed areas of the Fushimi Inari Taisha. The toriis form a tunnel in this part of the Shinto Shrine area.
