Ryburn Reservoir
Moss growing in the wall tops at the side of the footpath along the edge of the reservoir. It’s around about this spot only 18 months ago, when the water was so low we were able to walk out onto the dried up earth to add stones to a cairn which had been built there. With all the recent rain the water is overflowing the dam, so this is about as high as the level can get.

The tops of three lenticular clouds are visible above and behind the bank of cumulus at sunrise. Also, the large rounded top of a orographic/lenticular emerges out of the cumulus below it. I thought this was a rather amazing, unique and fascinating combination of cloud formations.
Another go at tis scene - this one captured slightly earlier, had moments before the sun diipped. Arrived 5 mins too late as per....

One of my very favorite neon signs in San Francisco, now gone and the diner it advertised closed . The place opened in 1935 and was just a block away from my office, it used to be a regular breakfast and lunch spot for me. Sadly closed a few weeks ago during the pandemic and the beautiful sign was taken down. Glad I thought to take a photo about two years ago. 2020 has really been a rotten year.
A fine looking Red Deer stag is seen standing guard on the Kinloch Hourn Road. This photo was taken in March 2012 at a time when the high mountain tops still had a good snow cover. For that reason most red deer had ventured down to the valley bottoms in search of somewhere to graze.
The snowbound Flat Tops Wilderness provide the backdrop, BNSF provides the loaded oil train. BNSF ran this train from Grand Junction - Denver in 9 hours and was the only train aside from Amtrak in those 267 miles the entire time. BNSF orange and black looks better here anyways.

This shelter on the cliff-tops at Mundesley on the north Norfolk coast provides a pleasant view of the sandy beach below. Mundesley is a village seven miles from Cromer, and was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1085. It has long been a traditional English seaside resort due to its sandy beach.
I processed this image in black and white when I first looked at it did back in 2019, but I always intended to try a colour version. now I have. It’s a scene of a very wet pine plantation in Glenfinnan releasing the moisture from the night before.
I was pleased to revisit and re-photograph this neon after a three year absence and found it aglow. Unfortunately it is not as compelling as it was in 2017.
