Masks have always been a central feature of the Venetian carnival; traditionally people were allowed to wear them between the festival of Santo Stefano (St. Stephen's Day, December 26) and the start of the carnival season and midnight of Shrove Tuesday. They have always been around Venice. As masks were also allowed on Ascension and from October 5 to Christmas, people could spend a large proportion of the year in disguise . Maskmakers (mascherari) enjoyed a special position in society, with their own laws and their own. Venetian masks can be made in leather or with the original glass technique. The original masks were rather simple in design,decoration, often had a symbolic, and practical function. Nowadays, most of them are made with the application of gesso and gold leaf and are all hand-painted using natural feathers and gems to decorate.

Giulia 952-serie is ontwikkeld als het Quadrifoglio-topmodel (> € 110K) en van daar uit zijn de Veloce (€ 55K) en Super (€ 42,5K) uitvoeringen ontstaan. Het resultaat is dat elke Giulia (vanaf € 41K) weet vast te houden aan de ideale 50/50 gewichtsverdeling voor een ijzersterke wegligging. Alle uitvoeringen hebben de accu in de kofferruimte. Ook zijn de nieuwe motoren uit aluminium vervaardigd en gaat elk exemplaar op pad met een carbon aandrijfas. Binnenin de Giulia vind je een start/stop knop op het stuur en de Alfa DNA-selector om het karakter van de auto naar wens nog sportiever af te stemmen. Mijn persoonlijke favoriet is een achterwiel aangedreven Rosso Alfa Giulia in Veloce uitvoering, tabacco bruin leder en met 19" Quadrifoglio velgen. Tot april dit jaar was deze versie echter niet leverbaar. Bij Ferrari kun je tailor-made dit soort aanpassingen laten doorvoeren. Echter Alfa Romeo komt mij als liefhebber van meer sportieve Alfa's, nu tegemoet met het pack Super Veloce (premiere autosalon van Geneve, maart 2017). Alfa heeft ervoor gezorgd dat de Veloce uitvoering, nu voor een groot publiek bereikbaar wordt. Fully loaded wordt een achterwiel aangedreven Super 2.0 AT8 (200pk) nu tijdelijk aangeboden in RWD Super Veloce uitvoering voor € 48.550,- (INCLUSIEF 8.8" NAV, 19" Quadrifoglio velgen, Brembo rosso remklauwen OPTIONS en Upgrade Climate Pack). Een vergelijkbaar uitgeruste AWD Veloce heeft een € 9.691,- hogere prijs, een 101kg hoger gewicht en een 14mm hoger zwaartepunt a.g.v de verhoogde bodemvrijheid. Het rijgedrag van de RWD Super Veloce is hierdoor nog flexibeler en garandeert een nog hoger rijplezier.
De Giulia Veloce heeft een consumenten vanaf prijs van € 54.830,-.
