Arriva London's Enviro City EVs had debuted earlier this month on the 319. Dubbed as the EA Class, they'll eventually replace the hybrids that are currently on the route. They are the first 71 plated vehicles to enter service in London.

All are still in rather new condition, so given the opportunity to snap one of them just before adverts invade although already there has been, just only the nearside.

On my latest day trip to London I took a few Underground shots. I headed for the outer edges of the Network where it was less busy and ended up at Tooting Bec towards the southern end of the Northern Line.
I think that permits are required for professional photography but casual photographs are allowed but no tripods and no flash.
The picture was taken with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm. Taken handheld at 640 ISO and at 1/5 of a second. I got a low angled shot for more drama. Taken in RAW. The image was opened in Camera Raw and 2 additional images were created at =2EV and -2Ev for a āfalse HDRā with each image having Noiseware Pro applied. A Photoshop action I had saved was used to create the extra images automatically.

And almost all the windows have lace curtains! Viewed from my lodgings at number 14. A tidy street of well maintained housing. Some houses had been re-roofed following damage during WW2 air raids. This photo was taken mid March 1963, just after the last snow had melted, ending the 'Big Freeze of '63'.

All vanishes! The Sun, from topmost heaven precipitated,
Like a globe of iron which is tossed back fiery red
Into the furnace stirred to fume,
Shocking the cloudy surges, plashed from its impetuous ire,
Even to the zenith spattereth in a flecking scud of fire
The vaporous and inflameĢd spaume.
