This, of all the weird things I photograph, is my toothbrush. The lens is really sharp.

I found an old set of Tokina closeup filters that I thought I had lost. I stacked all three of them on the front of my 50mm nikkor and started shooting around the house. Adjusted slightly in CS2 Nikon D70, Nikkor AF 50mm F/1.8D

Where all good toothbrushes end up - in my toolbox for cleaning things (brakes mostly).

Taken for the Leeds group's Object of the month (January 2008) challenge.

For the Strobists out there, this was taken in my garage, with an SB-800 fired into a large silver umbrella, and using a small silver reflector for fill-in. The flash is away in the top left, firing down and across (top left -> bottom right) the toolbox, with the reflector away in the bottom left. The flash was set to 1/4 power, and triggered by an Elinchrom Skyport.

I just had to try this. I tore up an old sheet and started knotting. The pattern is from Aunt Polly's Toothbrush Rag Basket. It was really fun and quick.

Electric toothbrush from the kids.

This is one of the many interesting outcroppings at Giant's Causeway. I don't know if it has any official name, but from this angle it looks like a toothbrush head to me...

This is a panorama of three images, stitched in Hugin and extensively adjusted in Gimp.

He was so happy to brush his teeth for about 20 minutes. Reaching the faucet is a big deal I guess.

A random box of toothbrushes I received in the mail.

I put a microSD card in my camera using an adapter, and then put it in my

phone so I could upload to Flickr. I might be able to use this method in

the future to do more "live from" pictures.

A White-marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar (Orgyia leucostigma) feeding on a Rugosa Rose (Rosa Rugosa) at Distant Hill Gardens. It looks a bit like a toothbrush, but I don't recommend using it as one. Contact with the poisonous hairs or spines of the White-marked tussock moth caterpillar can cause skin rashes.

FYI - The color of the tufts may vary from white to yellow.

First pic to upload from my new camera ... it's a tough choice. Decided on this one because it represents what's going on in my life this week... my wife is visiting her folks, the kids are at camp, and the house has been quiet and lonely. Sure glad she's coming back tomorrow.

This sculpture was made in 2008 by Jamasie Pitseolak, an artist from Cape Dorset on Baffin Island, northern Canada. His work depicts objects reflecting contemporary life. This piece is made from stone, caribou ivory and plastic and offers a humourous play on words. R5873
