In my house we seem to collect toothbrushes. Feel free to add one of your own.

My toothbrush (Radius), 2004. Been looking at photos of my three years in the Heartland, since I won't be here anymore in three weeks and two days.

Jan. 10 hunt - Every Morning

I learned that bacteria can grow on every surface so I brush mt teeth regularly and change out my toothbrush every month to prevent the growth of bacteria.

Inspired by Michael Nobbs, I drew my toothbrush.

Badly, but at least I drew it.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Erik J. Belty, a hospital medic assigned to Preventive Medical Detachment, I Marine Headquarters Group (FWD), demonstrates to the locals how to effectively use toothbrushes, during a village medical outreach, June 16, outside Bouldac, Afghanistan. A total of 81 villagers were able to receive medical aid and were each given a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and lotion.

Hair, toothbrush, glass, holder, wall tiles mounted on board.

This had to be dismantled, and killed (in the middle of the night!) because something was making it spontaneously turn on, and keep going. It's not meant to be user-serviceable, so thanks, Instructables!

Brush your teeth round and round everyday.

I saw these toothbrushes the other day, sold by Poundland. Yes, that does say 'FLOURIDE'. And the spelling is repeated on every single instance on the packaging - and even on the toothbrushes themselves (see photos).

What's odd is that even with the right spelling, 'Fluoride toothbrushes' doesn't really mean much either. It's not as if the bristles are impregnated with sodium fluoride or something similar: they're just normal cheap toothbrushes.

All I can think is that since the word 'Fluoride' is associated in many people's minds with healthy teeth, someone at Poundland's supplier thought it would be a good 'hook' for the toothbrush line. But is the misspelling deliberate, or accidental? Given some of the other spelling on the back of the packet, it is probably accidental.

Although - it's interesting to see "Certified Quality and Management System ISO 9001" marked on the packet, which must refer to Poundland and not the product itself. But how many shoppers know this when they see a toothbrush with the words "Certified Quality" on it?

Finally made something genuinely useful with this 3d printing business. It really works, and everything. This is exactly what 3d printing is good for - niche products that the manufacturer _should_ have included, but omitted for some reason.

I think I could not find anything better to shoot at home :-)

Playing around with extension tubes, I took this close up macro of a toothbrush...

Our toothbrushes. Saturated and Inverted with PS.

This is my toothbrush after the fire. Like James commented on yesterday's pic, when you think of things lost in a fire, you tend to think of the big things. The last thing I would have thought I'd be thinking about is a toothbrush, or a hairbrush, or a hair dryer, or deodorant, or shampoo, or toilet paper... or for that matter, a toilet to use! They are the little things I kind of take for granted are going to be there when I need them. Sure, I've been the one that has to replace them, but it's usually one thing at a time. It's never just all disappeared in a matter of a couple of hours before.

And again, I think about how it could have been worse. I have a spare bathroom where there happened to be a new toothbrush, one roll of toilet paper, and soap and shampoo in the shower. And a functioning toilet.

And as I'm reminding myself every day... no lives were lost, and that's the most important thing. I could be dead. Or, as a dear friend pointed out, in a burn unit fighting for my life. Or on a ventilator with severe lung damage from smoke inhalation.

Even red plaid seems kind of small when I think of that.

This is what happens when you leave your picture taking too late. And you are low on toothpaste so instead of a nice swirl of toothpaste, you get two blobs. Sigh.

Recyclable toothbrush

We need to change only the brush head every 3 months, handle can be reused...

The Daily Shoot #ds482 - Make a photograph that illustrates a role of technology in your life.

I use so much different technology everyday. I tried to think of something that I just take for granted these days.

A modern toothbrush seems to be something that I should appreciate more than I do on a daily basis.
