I'm cleaning out my toolbox and sorting out what I need to take with me on the North Carolina trip. It seems I've inherited my Father's inability to get rid of old tools, despite their useless or antiquity. I continue to lug around multiple tools for fixing things that I no longer own, and in some cases, for fixing things that no longer even exist. How's that 35mm headset wrench? I can't help it, they're good tools, and I've had them for this long already, and what If I meet someone with a loose oversize threaded headset? Back in the box they go.

A friend asked me to look after his toolbox until he can sort out a shed at his new home. I couldn't resist opening it up and having a peek.

Red toolbox. All metal, $5 at Goodwill. Think it's strange for me to buy a toolbox? Sorry, I have a zillion tools. You can never have too many toolboxes.

And still there is the personal side of this immaculate toolbox...the owners sons picture as a reminder....

Large and less-often used items have plenty of space in the bottom of the toolbox.

the clasps and corner protectors are brass plated steel, and are about 90 years old. they have had the tarnish removed, ad then oiled.

the brass handle on the side is new, as are all the brass screws.
