Visit to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum on January 5, 2011. The museum is at Auburn Hills, Michigan
in the Chrysler Headquarters complex.
These are Walter P. Chrysler's actual tools, some of which he made himself. When Chrysler's office was in the Chrysler Building in New York City, he proudly displayed them there.
A sturdy red wooden tool box! It's happy, chippy red paint has a lot of character, patina and paint crackle. It has metal corners and great details. Open it up to reveal the inside which is painted black.
I love this box and think it would make an excellent decorative piece. You could stash tools in it, or jewelry, or spices. Anything really. It would add a bright punch to a room.
I've cleaned it so it's ready to use!

de toolbox is gemaakt van 1mm dik aluminiumplaat en wordt bij elkaar gehouden door popnagels.

A MAC tool chest with hutch, and a Cornwell side cabinet. Mounted on a custom fabricated steel angle and channel frame.
An automotive AM/FM/CD unit with bookshelf speakers was added in the hutch, powered by a small sealed 12 volt batter. A battery maintainer is connected, and plugged into a power strip, and a retractable power cord mounted on the back of the hutch. Roll into a service bay, plug in, and get to it.
The casters in this photo have been replaced with a set that have coil spring suspension. That makes the box ride over the expansion joints in the floor quite smoothly.
This stuff was lying on top of an old handmade mechanics toolbox of mine. Looked like it was laid out for a picture so .....I took one! There’s a round 1882 Perfection lock a nice Sargent lock with a Fleur-de-lis type pattern and a Slaymaker RFD mail lock.
