25 years ago, I used to skateboard all the time. Now that my 12 year old is getting into it, I thought I would show him a few tricks on the vert ramp at the local skate park (CHIIPS). I still have moves, they just aren't in the right direction.
As they say on TV: "Don't try this at home". Gravity wins. Skateboards are dangerous to old bodies.
In case the safety hazards in the picture are not clear, I have added my analysis to the picture.

Tony "Birdman" Hawk (* 12. Mai 1968 in Carlsbad, Kalifornien als Anthony Frank Hawk) ist ein US-amerikanischer Skateboardfahrer. Er wird als Pionier des modernen Vert-Styles gesehen.
1982, gerade erst 14 Jahre alt geworden, startete Tony Hawk als Profi im Powell-&-Peralta-Team, der Bones Brigade. Mit 16 Jahren galt er als der weltweit beste Skater. Mitte der 1980er Jahre begann seine Siegesserie. Tony Hawk wurde elfmal nacheinander Weltmeister. Er gewann in dieser Zeit 73 von 103 Wettbewerben. Tony Hawk war einer der ersten Skateboarder, nach dem ein Schuhmodell benannt wurde. Anfang der 1990er gründete er, eine eigene Firma namens Birdhouse für den Vertrieb von Skateboards, Skateboarding-Zubehör und -Accessoires. 1999 ist unter Skatern allgemein als Das Jahr des 900ers bekannt, zugleich ist es auch das letzte, in dem Tony Hawk aktiv an Wettbewerben teilnahm. Sein ältester Sohn Riley Hawk ist inzwischen ebenfalls professioneller Skateboarder. Seit 1998 arbeitet Tony Hawk mit der Softwarefirma Activision zusammen an der Videospielereihe die unter dem Namen „Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding“ bekannt ist.

Cut paper and card board. 3D mixed media. 25 year old Thrasher magazines, TWS and a host of others were cut up for this piece. Old skate buds as many as I could remember and find were put into this piece. I wanted to show all the skaters that were part of Powell from day one. Stacy Peralta, Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Tommy Guerrero, Danny Way, Scott Foss, Adrian Demain, Alan “Ollie” Gelfand, Jim Thiebaud, Ray Barbee, Ray Underhill, Ray Rodriguez, Per Welinder, Rodney Mullen, and many more. All proceeds of my piece if sold will go directly to Board Rescue. Non-Profit.

A movie I loved in 1987 and recently re-watched on DVD with some hilarious directors cuts and bonus disc of interviews with the original cast giving background. I guess you could sort of call this the "pink flamingos" of skateboard videos. It's so absurd it's great, and they skaters actually try to act. Well, a little.
