The colorful mural embellishes the house wall adjacent to a basketball court. It shows a decorated elephant playing with a balloon shaped like a globe. The focus on Africa should allude to the roots of the artist Jadore Tong.

Taken from the A41 on a very cold and frosty morning in February 2012 (-7 c), Tong Church with the rising sun shining on it.

Wo Lok Estate is the oldest existing public housing estate in Kwun Tong District, and the first public housing estate with seven-storeys blocks. The estate comprises 11 blocks of buildings of Old Slab type built from 1962 to 1966.
It was developed into 2 phases. Phase 1 included 8 seven-storey blocks built in 1962 and 1963, while Phase 2 included 3 blocks built in 1965 and 1966. In 2007, the government evaluated the condition of the buildings, and found them all structurally sound. However, structural repair and improvement works were carried out to sustain the buildings for the next 15 years.

A popular spot with Instagrammers, this building is unlike anything else in Sham Shui Po. It’s home to Lung Hing Tong, an institution established in 1931 that offers a range of services from the medical to the spiritual and religious. Its colourful green tiling is in stark contrast to the neutral blocks sitting on either side, and its eye-catching design is topped by a 3D dragon, cranes and deer emerging out of the frescos on the roof. Kwun Tong (Chinese: 觀塘; Cantonese Yale: Gūntòng) is a station on the MTR Kwun Tong line in Hong Kong. The station was opened in 1979 as the eastern terminus of the first phase of the MTR network, called the "Modified Initial System", until the Eastern Harbour Crossing to Quarry Bay opened in 1989. It is located in the Kwun Tong area, between Lam Tin and Ngau Tau Kok stations. The station is elevated and open-air, unlike almost every other station on the line. Only Ngau Tau Kok and Kowloon Bay stations are like this. Due to difficulties in installing platform screen doors (PSDs) in above ground stations, the MTR decided not to install PSDs in this station, instead installing automatic platform gates (APGs) on the station's platforms in 2011. It is located far away from most residential areas, causing many residents of Kwun Tong to take other means of transport in order to reach the station. There is a shopping centre and office tower, named apm Millennium City 5, connected to the station. Beneath the station building is a road tunnel which diverts traffic along Kwun Tong Road from the roundabout around the station. info from wikipedia

Michael and I are keen to immerse ourselves in the cultures of the places we travel to. So, on our way up this hill, underneath this tall overpass, we stopped off at McDonalds. Marvelling at the local chocolate sundaes and how truly fantastical it was compared to the boring options back in the UK.
So, chomping our way through the delicious local cuisine, we swerved around groups of students and made our way up the hill. Stopping multiple times on the way (all entirely my need- Michael could climb a mountain without complaining), I looked back and took this shot of the little valley between the towers.

I know, I know. Hong Kong, again! I’m not wealthy- I just keep spending all my money on going there. I don’t think they say ‘Fourth Times the Charm’ but this trip was just that - a success. For almost the entire time I kept my mental health issues at bay. It was a good trip. After three disasters - It is really nice to say that.

Origami 4-petal 3D Flower
Origami 4-Petal Flower with Edge
Designed by Fendy Tong and folded by me from YouTube video.
The simple flower I folded from heavier dark green paper (6") to act as a container and suggest leaves. I chose a selection of thinner pastel kami (4.5") for the other flowers.
