This tomato is suffering from "Green Back". The top of the fruit remains hard and unripe when the remainder ripens normally. This is on an "Ailsa Graig" plant. The tomatoes from the "Shirley" plants, growing alongside, are fruiting normally.

7/1 - shrunken leaf:

This leaf is Jane. Poor Jane lives on the sickest plant. She was about the same size as Bob only a couple weeks ago. As you can see, she barely reaches my palm now, and covers only two finger's width, while Bob can hide my whole hand. I'd expect that Jane would be showing intense convolutions: there has to be somewhere all that tissue is going to, but she is no more wrinkly than Bob is. It's the weirdest thing, like my tomatoes are growing backwards in time.

7/1 - Leaf that just started shrinking:

Let's name this leaf Bob. Bob lives on the healthiest Brandywine and he was fine a couple days ago. He has just started showing symptoms (wrinkled up ridges) but hasn't lost much size yet.

the first brandywine to show symptoms

7/1 - stem a little higher up:

I looked all over for stem bumps, and could only find this one small one. The stem looks a little purplish in spots, but I don't know if that's normal for Brandywines or not.

7/1 - brandywine looking no better:

One day after I fertilized with bloodmeal and watered.

7/1 - leaves at bottom:

the leaves at the bottom show some yellowing but it looks like naturally aging leaves to my (inexperienced) eyes.
