That was the claim made by a friend who was fiercely holding on to a position of faith. It is generally true, that at a certain point we just must take a position, subjectively, willingly or not. However, what when these various subjective absolutisms collide with each other? The Talibans are "subjective absolutists" for example. Then, my friend says, we need to exercise our individual absolutism with tolerance and kindness. Sounds good. But where do tolerance and kindness come from? Neither Christianity nor Islam have a convincing record when it comes to the treatment of others or of people thinking differently. According to the logic of both religions, only God is absolute - man is relative. This basic principle makes a 'tolerant' exercise of subjective absolutism really difficult. In other words, the profound problem here is not subjectivity, we all have got that, the problem is "absolutism". We all hold positions - absolute they are not.

Part 3 of 3: Badger and Coyote have settled down and turned their attention to the photographer, who has by now slithered out of his rolling red Toyota blind and is crawling through the snow and mud toward them. Coyote wasn't putting up with that. She made a quick exit, stage right, keeping a wary eye on the intruder. How close did Badger allow me to approach? Tune in tomorrow.

As for the mutual tolerance of these two predators for each other, this is the most companionable moment I've seen (we're talking species now, not individuals). They have a long, well documented association as hunters, one often following the other on their rounds, and there must be mutual benefit from this or it would not happen. I've witnessed this behaviour on many occasions. But I've never seen two hanging out like this - very close and relatively calm. Nature continues to surprise me.

My edit of NYC street art 'Tolerance', from renowned Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, created in his signature, harlequin-pattern, Technicolor style. Painted on the side of the Chelsea Square Market, the image features the profiles of Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi, facing each other, in a tribute to their roles as two of the world’s greatest humanitarians.

*Working Towards a Better World

Each and every person throughout the world has to understand that if we unite and live in harmony we all win!! However, if we continue to fight wars and use violence we ALL suffer. We are all human beings made of flesh, blood, with eyes, a nose, mouth, hair, limbs, and similar bodies different only in colour and shape, but our hearts and brains are all the same, and we need to learn to use them to our mutual benefit, by tolerating and understanding one another, sharing together, caring about one another and working together in unity!

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo❤️

Not much more than other people's art.

This is the start for posting photos from the few days I spent visiting Moldova.

Translation: Does it matter on the job whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated?

For a working world in which this is no longer a question. We use the strengths of all.

A macro view of a dowel screw from a pair of eye glasses sitting atop a metal ruler, taken for the Macro Mondays group theme, "My Closest." The screw measures 5mm in length.

The hardest part of this shoot was getting that tiny screw to stay put on the ruler where I wanted it (I won't get into the time I dropped it on my carpet floor and the adventure that ensued trying to find it!).

Strobist/technical info:

The scene was illuminated by two LEDs and two Nikon SB900 speedlights. The two SB900s were placed at 9- and 3-o'clock, one-foot above and three-feet away from the screw. They were fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄16 power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes. A white Led light panel was placed at 12-o'clock and the blue LED of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight was placed overhead (for the blue highlights and background). Both were exposed for 1/10 s.

The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X flash triggers.

Lens: Vega 11U 50mm f2.8 attached to a bellows extended 123mm.

Nothing political, just a standardized color code on a resistor indicating its resistance value and the percentage of variation in that value. Most resistors have four stripes; some may have a fifth stripe for additional data. A single black stripe (denoting, as oxymoronic as it might seem, a “resistor” without any resistance) is just jumper wire in a resistor-like package for special purposes.

On a typical resistor, the first two stripes indicate the significat digits, in this instance, brown for the digit one and black for the digit zero; to form the number 10. The third stripe multiplies the two significant digits by a power of 10 (1, 10, 100, 1,000, and so on) to arrive at the final figure; in this case, orange for 1,000 times 10, for a value of 10 kilohms, or 10,000 ohms. The red band indicates the tolerance, plus or minus two percent for this part.

The resistor body is about ¼" (6.35mm) long, the smallest item I have photographed in a while.

. ... Une aigrette garzette et un héron cendré.

. ... Photo prise au Jardin Botanique de Bordeaux.

And then there were three. A Muslim, a Christian and a Jew. They travel together as three good friends by the time and the world and examine the life and relationships. .

They belong to one family and therefore seem them on top of each other.

They love to argue and the weather. Are they agree on one thing: if they knock on the door of the Heaven they do so not only with a sense of humor but also because they want to find the love of God

We've gotta address something that's been really disgusted me. I can't stay silent about the racist behavior coming from Ditto and her colleagues any longer. It's like a broken record playing the same awful tune, and I'm done pretending it's okay!

We need to step up and shut this down. Our workplace should be a zone of respect and inclusivity, not a platform for bigotry.

Let's make it clear, there's zero tolerance for this kind of ignorance here.

This ain't no playground spat, this is straight-up racist bullying. Someone done messed with my friend, spewing hate like a broken faucet. But guess what? We ain't gonna stand for it!

Given the voracity with which this calf was feeding it is no wonder the mom has such a look of impatient tolerance on her face! No doubt very close to being fully weaned, she did not allow it to feed for very long. Still, it was a very tender moment to witness.

(The world hates the demo for all)

One from a recent holiday where the streets of a small town were home to many of these incredible summer migrants.

The people living there protect the nests but otherwise go about their daily business as if every town has such beautiful and helpful visitors. After all, looking after the birds, keeps the flies down.
