Judios,Musulmanes y Cristianos dieron el nombre a la “Ciudad de las Tres Culturas”
Con la bufanda del río
Toledo se abriga del frío.
Con la campana mayor,
se quedó sordo un señor.
Con la tajada del tajo
un perro se vino abajo
y los árabes con destreza
convirtieron el agua en belleza.
Fijaos bien en lo que os digo:
quinientos curas y ochocientos mendigos
forman este pueblo que corte ha sido.

Mientras tanto, una dama envia a su celestina para sus fines y las malas artes. Aunque esta vez se podria decir... a río revuelto, ganancia de pescadores.
A lo largo de toda su extensa historia, Toledo ha sido conocida siempre por ser la Ciudad de la Tolerancia o la Ciudad de las Tres Culturas, con la convivencia de judíos, musulmanes y cristianos.
La ciudad nunca estuvo dividida de una manera clara por barrios de cada una de las religiones, pero sí existen zonas de una mayor influencia de cada una de ellas.
La Ciudad Histórica de Toledo está inscrita en la Lista Oficial de los Bienes Patrimonio de la Humanidad dentro de los "Bienes Culturales" desde 1986 por sus valores paisajísticos, su entorno geográfico, el encajamiento del río, los Cigarrales, las Vegas, el emplazamiento de la ciudad migmatítica (rocas metamórficas muy antiguas), sus miradores (La Granja, Virgen de Gracia, Santa Leocadia, San Cristóbal).
La ciudad de Toledo está emplazada en lo alto de un promontorio granítico que el río Tajo, con un cauce profundamente encajado, rodea y aísla por los lados este, sur y oeste, mientras que por el norte se une con la meseta castellana a través de la comarca de La Sagra.
Toledo ist eine alte Stadt auf einem Hügel über dem Flachland von Castilla-La Mancha in der Mitte Spaniens. Die Hauptstadt der Region ist für ihre arabischen, jüdischen und christlichen Bauwerke aus dem Mittelalter in der von einer Mauer umgebenen Altstadt bekannt.

Toledo is a city in central Spain, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986.
Toledo is known as the "Imperial City" because it was the headquarters of the court of Charles V, and as the "City of Three Cultures" because of the cultural influence of Christians, Muslims and Jews in its history. It is known for its long history in the production of edged weapons.
The city sits on top of a mountain, bordered on three sides by the Tagus River, containing many monuments, including the Alcazar and the Gothic Primate Cathedral of Spain.

Successively a Roman municipium, the capital of the Visigothic Kingdom, a fortress of the Emirate of Cordoba, an outpost of the Christian kingdoms fighting the Moors and, in the 16th century, the temporary seat of supreme power under Charles V, Toledo is the repository of more than 2,000 years of history. Its masterpieces are the product of heterogeneous civilizations in an environment where the existence of three major religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam – was a major factor.

Panorama of the skyline in Toledo, OH with the Maumee River in the foreground. This is my first successful panorama and I think it turned out pretty well, overall. I really dig the tall building left of center that allows the warm light from the setting sun to peek through.
This scene is soon to change when ProMedica builds their headquarters in place of the old Steam Plant and erects a parking garage right next to it.
