Captured with The Asanuma Tokina 200mm 3.5 lens. It is a soft warm portrait lens, and has a very interesting glow (if you didn't mind the CA). The sun shining on the roots of this old pine tree really shows it.
We had this tiny visitor in our little backyard. this macro is a handheld shot using a Tokina macro lens. Natural light is at play here.

According to "Butterflies of Africa" the genus Precis is closely allied to Junonia and includes several species that were formerly placed within that genus. The 2 genera differ however in genitalia structure and foodplant choice.
There are 20 currently recognised Precis species of which 14 are found exclusively on the African mainland. A further 2 are endemic to Madagascar. The remaining 3 are found in south-east Asia.
Precis octavia is seasonally dimorphic, i.e. it produces 2 different forms according to season. The above is the 'dry season' form.

DEVIANTART
Long exposure frame taken while in motion during a road trip from Valparaiso to Santiago, Chile. I used a 10 Stop ND filter on a Tokina 11-16 to increase the exposure time. I kind of hand held the camera because at the moment it wasn't practical to use a tripod... and I just don't have a small fancy one. I am getting to know this ND fiter and I am loving it!
