Hard rubber token. E.J. Swift ran the House from 1866 to 1889 making this an early token for Santa Cruz as well as a rare use of hard rubber for tokens in California. This piece was dug on Beach Hill in the 1970s. I have been able to account for 5 surviving tokens based on catalog descriptions of known examples.
Despite not being used for over 10 years and me never seeing any of Chicago other than the airports, a CTA token somehow made it iinto the washing machine. Possibly the result of a very localized distortion of the space/time continuum.

My series of small objects that people gave to me from thier travels, done in a larger format larger than the actual size. This token in particular was a small piece of smooth wood just about two inches and was given to me by my brother Nathan.

D8059/20059 runs over Bewdley Viaduct with a short working from Arley to Kidderminster, 8 October 2011. Anyone know the significance of the bear hiding behind the top marker disc?
