The points are set for 37673 to enter the 'down' loop at Lostwithiel Station at 12.35 on the 19th August 1997 with the china clay empties from Fowey Harbour. Note the signalman is returning to his 'box' after collecting the 'Fowey' token from the driver of 37673.

1st April 2018. LMS 5MT Crab 2-6-0 No.13065 slowly leaves Ramsbottom with a service to Rawtenstall. In the scene you can see the Signal Man giving the loco crew the token which will give the Crab the right to proceed to the next Signal Box at Townsend Fold. The railway is part of the East Lancashire Railway.

My favourite image of the day as 34007 Wadebridge rolls the Pines Express off the viaduct , Fireman with the token out to exchange as the signalman gets into position . All taking place as snow steadily falls .
I've cropped the footbridge to exclude the gallery and removed a lime green bobble hat in the first carriage as well as a little desaturation of the colour for effect
I should also say I had my youngest in my left arm at the time whilst composing with the camera in my left and being aware of 80072 bearing down behind me

Thomas Rogers, A.B on the Mildura warship, was engaged this afternoon in shipping ammunition on the Mararoa for Sydney. When the work was finished, instead of going ashore by the gangway, he leaped from the top deck with the intention of jumping from the rail to the wharf, 11 feet below, by laying hold of the rail and putting his foot on the stool. He slipped his hold in jumping, and struck the side of the wharf. Then the body rebounded on to the wooden fender below, and he was killed instantaneously.[1]

Auckland Council cemeteries website notes initial D. for middle name.
The photograph dated 5 April 1901 on this link shows the sailors from H.M.S. Mildura searching for a launch propeller at man-o-war steps, Auckland Harbour. Supplying air to the diver. It is not connected to the death of Thomas but is close to when he died so interesting for uniform styling and equipment.

I was very surprised at how tiny TTC subway tokens are! I've already misplaced one.
Here is one (bottom) shown with a quarter and toonie for scale. The weird part is that the token is the most valuable coin there ($2.25 to purchase, but pays for a $2.75 fare).
Been trying different ways to capture this.
NYC Subway Tokens are no longer used by the Transit Authority.
Distribution of tokens in Tica in the Nhamatanda district of Mozambique observed today (05.04.19). Approximately 1,000 households targeted through senior barrio (area) representatives. The tokens will enable effective targeting of the most vulnerable with tarpaulins, emergency food aid and other essential items. The community representatives were shown how the tokens should be used and will be working with Caritas to arrange actual distributions of tarps and food items over the coming days. Huge need witnessed in the area visited. Some Caritas tarpaulins in evidence in the area already.

This is a farthing trade token, much magnified the original being some 15mm in diameter, from the Mermaid, undated but falling within the period 1649 to 1672. It is inscribed on the obverse "IOSEPH (Joseph) CLARKE AT THE (a Mermaid)". On the reverse is inscribed "IN YEAVELL IN SOMERSET - C.I.I."'. Tokens usually had three initials, representing the two Christian names of the issuer and his wife plus their surname.

A view of the token box in the signal box at Bewdely, UK. A token cannot be released from this box until it is released by another signal box at Arley, UK.
After all the jewelry the Purple Mage was obliged to wear as status markers, this little token of devotion is that much more precious to Nightowl.
