One of the wonderful scenes to see in Namibia is the beautiful black faced impala as they gather at the waterhole to get refreshed for the day. I love Namibia and all the beauty it has to offer and We are looking forward to returning in May and June of 2020. Our trip this year has one spot available and we are already planning for 2021. Early morning light the shore of Villaricos, Almeria Province in Southern Spain. This area was littered with mines exploiting the rich mineral wealth of the strata here back in the 1800's. Tin, lead, iron and silver ore were extracted until mining ceased in the 1900's.

The area now relies on tourism and agriculture for its income and through the winter you find lots of motorhomes from Northern Europe using this former industrial site as a park-up area.

I spent pre dawn and the hour after exploring the area and was surprised to find this swing perched on the cliff top.

Mean meaning to come back here since I got the new camera and lens a while back.

Was hoping for some nice light but it was really dull by the time I got here and the tide still rising.

The birds stayed still for 2 mins so that was a nice touch.

I have a mono version to but kinda like muted colours here. The mono lacks contrasts so difficult to get a good version

I've seen a shot similar to this leading to Monument Valley many times and this stretch of road leading into Steamboat Rock State Park always reminded me of it, so here it is. :-)

I remember taking this pic a couple of years ago. I was actually sitting in a parking lot, waiting for my brother to come out to the car, when the sky opened up like some kind of portal to heaven! I was entranced by the beauty of it, and took many shots, hoping to capture the splendor of it, but not a single one quite nailed it. Even with processing, what I saw in person far outshone the image my camera and I could render, but it's still beautiful.

I'm working on a music lyric video and noticed this transition on one of the frames from a still to a video clip. i shot the still at a concert that was right on the San Diego Harbor and the seagull clip along the harbor. Fun, fun, fun!

A bald eagle is ready to get airborne in Pasco County, Florida, USA. The eagle was photographed in early morning golden light which lasts about 15 to 30 minutes on a sunny morning.

I was back out in our meadow this morning. No dew today but I found this lonely Lady on a small, dried weed. It was cool out and no wind. She was quite still for me to set-up and take around 30 shots for focus stacking @ 4x magnification.

I'm off to see if there'll be a sunrise this morning in the Brecon Beacons. I guess Pen y Fan will be too busy so I'll go elsewhere. During a snow shower on my last visit I noticed these beautiful receding ridges beyond Cribyn. It's quite understated and calming , a nice change for me. Velvet snow is by Kings of Leon, and that was the first title i saw this morning when I opened my playlist.

A forced perspective shot of a Solido die-cast 1/18th scale model Shelby Cobra 427 roadster parked in our street and ready for the road. I was setting up a second shot of me behind the wheel, but it started raining. This little model does actually come with a fully removable hard top roof and roll bar. More photos to come, hopefully from some locations outside of our village.

The real thing would be so nice to have. But, as one sold recently in the US for around US$ 5.5 million, I might need to get a little more in the piggy bank!

I went to Jewell Town Vineyards last week to buy some wine as a gift and to do a little sampling. These grapes are left on the vines to freeze and then an 'Ice Wine' is made from them. It's expensive and delicious...I loved it!

I went to look for the chamois again today, and although they showed up they didn’t seem pleased that I had brought my mom along... they made a big show of giving warning calls and sprinting towards cover while not appearing particularly nervous. (They do remind me a bit of cats.) As I didn’t manage to capture their show very well I took a few flower shots instead...

Sunrise at a 5 star lodge accommodation near Te Anau. My wife found a deal on the internet! You might notice the "grain" (noise) where I extracted as much shadow detail as I could from a single RAW file (and forgot to turn down the ISO after astro shots the night before). In hindsight I could have taken a second shot to get the foreground but there we are. Have a great Thursday (8 17 am here) and thanks for visiting.
