Commissioned TNT re-rooted in platinum blond. She was actually patterned after my original Platinum TNT that I styled in a similar do. This color is nearly a perfect match to the original undamaged platinum shade used by Mattel. She also has been given new lashes, otherwise she was in pretty good shape.

Stopped at a new Goodwill store (near the show) and found no dolls, but some great patterns and fabrics. Even some thread--I don't have fabric to match, but I'll use it when I have to run a gathering stitch.

A commission for a client, she was a former living Barbie re-rooted to look like a Titan TNT. It was kind of hard to find the right shade of red since so many of them are too orange or blond. But, I think the regular titan shade from RD looks pretty close.

TNT Stacey is dressed in a vintage bridal fashion. (I love the Empire waist on this dress.)

Super cute with matching doll pattern (although it's just the a-line dress, no sleeves). They are pretty vague on whom the doll pattern is made for, or even which size doll!

The gal on the left was my very first HF. I think she's especially pretty and I really love her hair. The one in the middle is hiding her blonde locks under a red wig. I like the face of the one on the far right.

I've been bad - but I could not resist this doll when I saw her. The price was just too good and she came with Mini Prints! Barbie has been redressed in what I believe is a "mommy made" dress. I just love her!

My talkers still work! My busy Barbie has her original outfit, but I was to lazy to put it on! The ponytail Barbie is the rare Montgomery ward barbie, also known as the "forgotten Barbie"

TNT Barbie Sun Kissed wears Wild 'n Wintery #3416 (1971 - 1972) Auburn TNT Barbie Flip Hair (centered eyes) wears Pelliccia Sportiva (or Ledermantel mit Pelz) #7977 (1974)

I finally started putting my vintage/ mod display back up. I though it would be fun to post the dolls as they were redressed and went back into the display.

This is a 1967 Summer Sand TNT, out of all my TNT I think she has the prettiest complexion very high color and peach. She also has very thick hair due to the fact that she has a double row of plugs in her hair. She is wearing the Dancing Doll repro dress, which is one of my favorites since it is so frilly and feminine.

This was the Repro that I really wanted out of all of the 50th anniversary dolls (though they are all really cool!! Maybe I can pick up the rest...) Anyway, I think she looks pretty good, I like the repro of the outfit that came with her.. the only things I would really complain about are she has the dreaded stiff hair and I think her eyelashes are too long. Also, I guess it would have been nice if they would have reproduced the proper doll stand to go with this, though those things didn't work worth crap anyway.

I thought about starting a new series: "I have it...I miss it, I miss it": missing Barbie outfit's accessories that I tried to make or substitute with something similar. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures.

This is Melanie from the garden party photo. I bought this talking barbie head for a total of $7.50 AUD ($6.99 USD). I removed her eyelashes, and cheated by painting over the holes rather than rerooting them :P. I painted her some nice orange lips and I styled her frizzy hair into a large curl and flattened her bangs and finished it off with a white bow (on the other side) and some "Giovanni - Natural Mousse", which I use on all of my dolls hair to keep it tamed :).

Because I always seem to leave it out of the picture, here is a picture of the large curl and bow: www.flickr.com/photos/deanreen/14919933206/

Here is a before and after of my new Steffie faced TNT standard Barbie. She arrived in the post today wearing the underdress from (and in the box of) Fun 'n Fancy from the 1981 Designer Originals line.

Her hair was a mess! It was slightly knotted and there were individual strands going in all sorts of directions, but it was nothing that I couldn't handle with the help of a comb and boiled water.

Her body, especially her leg, were very dirty. So dirty in fact, that the water was brown when I finished giving her a bath.

I prefer to clean my dolls with organic, allergen free shampoo and a toothbrush. I find that the toothbrushes with the combination of nylon and rubber bristles work best as the rubber bristles act like erasers to remove some of the more stubborn marks (avoid the face paint if possible though :)

Greenface Zombie TNT Barbie, $2 at a flea market... she needed a new home, poor dear.

Also, she is weird, because she has blonde hair but her scalp is brown.

TNT Barbie is wearing a lovely OOAK dress by Tania at 59barbiestreet. This is an interpretation of Mattel's "Dancing Stripes". It's really lovely!
