(Bear with me - I'm just catching up with all my foster dogs that I didn't upload before now)
One day this past July, Carl and I were coming home on a back road from the store. We came across a mother dog and her two puppies, walking right down the middle of the road. They all looked thin and dirty, and essentially very neglected. The next day I drove back to the spot, and sure enough the puppies were in the road again. I contacted the Animal Control officer, who found the owner and convinced him to give them up.
The puppies (two girls that I named Tipper and Tilly) were completely unsocialized and were terrified of everyone they met. I felt responsible for them, since I was the one who called Animal Control, so I brought them home to foster. Within a few days, the girls started coming out of their shells and were becoming normal, happy, healthy puppies. Both were adopted during the Scott County Fair. The families that adopted them were close friends, so Tipper and Tilly won’t be totally separated from each other forever – they’ll be able to visit whenever the families get together!
