The one on my left shoe was for Bay to Breakers; the one on my right was for the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon.
Now, we've removed the harmonic balancer and timing chain cover. That's a brand new timing chain, which is now loose. This is bad news, it means most of the main bearings are probably shot.
My dad is the one waving and my mum is the one who took this photograph instead of going up the pirate ship because of her fear of heights. Things haven't change since then...That's what I love about this picture :)
So my feet in the foreground. Left ankle has the neoprene/velcro strap with the timing chip. You wear it for the entire race as you go from swim to bike to run. As you go over the timing mats in front of the transition area it will time your splits for the different race parts and also your transition times.
