No matter your political POV, all can agree these are rocky times. Not something one would be apt to smile about. However, like rocky times before us, we have a strong foundation that will help to see us through.

Baburgh St Aidan's Church.
According to Bede, St Aidan built a wooden church outside the castle wall in AD 635, and he died here in AD 652. A wooden beam preserved inside the church is traditionally said to be the one on which he rested as he died.

Another one from the archives, of a night when I was the first and only person to get around Nash Point on a dropping tide. the freshly exposed rock layers were still glistening from the tide as the setting sun coloured up the cliffs and clouds. I can't wait to experience these special moments the world can give us again. Times Like These is by Foo Fighters and I think I'll have a go at singing it today after my breakfast disco :))) Perhaps I;l get the children next door who sit on the wall and keep me company to join in on the chorus ;)))

A metaphor for our times, perhaps, when the world seems upside down. I just received an email from Bruce Percy, who wrote of inverting his photos (a lot better than this ;-) And hoping to sell his work. (www.brucepercy.com link off Flickr.) He calls it reinterpreting the image. I call it fooling around on an overcast morning.
This is a new crocus bloom from yesterday morning, taken using a translucent umbrella and tripod. I used an invert tool in Photoshop and then added a slight yellow hue. Just an experiment. No need to comment. I'm just a basic user of Photoshop. No knowledge about all of those little tools and layers. Looks a bit similar to a negative.

Old remainder of ancient tree, the altar of times long gone, pedestal for moss and shrooms. Memory lost in mists, left for younger trees, so they can live again and become ancient by themselves. Many leaves will fall before the old stump disappears completely.

When I invite Sparkles over for a drink or three, it kinda sorta always ends up something like this: a dance-off in the greenhouse with the greenhouse security camera catching the antics! This is really colorful, right?! And we’re looking very sunkissed here, but you know, it’s greenhouse lighting, extra fine tuned for uhm, pot plants. And yes, I have fluffy boots in every color including Georgia red!
I wanted to show Spark my prized cannabis plant, so after our fourth or fifth margarita, we danced through the doors to admire the blue-ribbon worthy greenery (okay, maybe not quite blue ribbon!) and I forgot to switch off the security cameras. But ... a win for us, a drunk selfie for the collection without even having to snap it ourselves. Plus, bonus points for Sparkle actually sparkling like a unicorn here as well! Love you, Sparkling girl, and cheers to another adventure with photographic evidence for the memory album. Yay! PS: your version is so ace!🍷🍷🍷
