Volkswagen Beetle | 67L4DY
Townsville, Queensland
This Volkswagen Beetle was photographed during a Tropical Air Volkswagen Club of North Queensland breakfast cruise in Townsville on 31 January 2026.
A classic Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle. Rear engine, air-cooled flat four, simple mechanical layout and one of the most recognisable shapes ever put on the road. These cars were built to be driven, and this one still is.
Finished in a burgundy and cream two tone, it wears its age properly. Steel wheels, chrome trim, original-style interior and a tidy air-cooled engine bay out back. Nothing overdone, nothing staged. Just parked up during the cruise and photographed as it sat on the day.
This set focuses on shape, colour, interior detail and the small mechanical touches that make these cars what they are. Shot in natural light, on location, documenting the car honestly rather than trying to make it something it’s not.

Sometimes the subject just comes to you.
🚗 An Excalibur Series IV Phaeton (1982) pulled up right next to my house — after over 1000 km of flawless driving from Switzerland to Budapest.
Inspired by 1920s Mercedes SSKs but powered by an American V8, this hand-built retro-luxury machine was one of the most extravagant neoclassic cars of its era.
Shot on a vintage Pentacon 50mm f1.8, styled with an Ektar 100 film look to bring out the chrome and that deep red paint.
✨ The details speak for themselves.

Néha a téma egyszerűen házhoz jön.
A 20-as évek Mercedes SSK modelljei ihlették, de amerikai V8-as hajtja.

Buenos Aires, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires: Audrey Bergner finds a quiet moment of reflection within a classic window nook characterized by intricate wood paneling and historic stained glass. The composition emphasizes the contrast between the deep, rich tones of the hand-carved millwork and the soft, diffused natural light filtering through the leaded glass panes. A solitary coat of arms emblem set within the window adds a layer of architectural heritage, anchoring the scene in the storied traditions of the capital city. The photographer utilizes a shallow depth of field to isolate the subject against the geometric symmetry of the window frame, creating a sense of intimacy amidst the grandeur of the room. Plush cushions and pillows invite comfort, softening the rigid lines of the surrounding woodwork while inviting the viewer to pause and appreciate the slow rhythm of urban life. This image serves as a subtle study on the intersection of personal stillness and the complex historical layers found in Argentine domestic architecture. By documenting such private architectural details, the frame captures the enduring charm of a city that seamlessly blends European influence with its own distinct cultural identity. This image is a collaborative production by Samuel Jeffery and Audrey Bergner for Project 23.

Estancia Arroyo Verde, Río Negro: A sun-drenched dining room captures the essence of classic Patagonian hospitality, featuring a beautifully set wooden table surrounded by striped upholstered chairs. The room is anchored by a massive fieldstone fireplace, where intricate bird figurines and an equestrian painting evoke a timeless connection to the rugged landscape outside. Warm, natural light streams through an arched window, illuminating the delicate glassware and casting soft shadows across the polished hardwood floors. The composition utilizes a shallow depth of field, drawing the viewer’s eye from the intimate foreground seating into the hearth-warmed heart of the estancia. Every detail, from the textured rock walls to the golden curtains, reflects a heritage of Argentine ranch life that prioritizes warmth, durability, and elegance. The atmosphere is one of serene anticipation, as if the room is perfectly prepared for an evening of shared stories and traditional gastronomy. This setting illustrates the unique intersection of European architectural influence and the vast, untamed spirit of the Andean foothills. The scene serves as a poignant reminder of how regional lodges preserve cultural identity through preserved craftsmanship and deliberate interior design. This image is a collaborative production by Samuel Jeffery and Audrey Bergner for Project 23.

San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires: A serene, sun-drenched bedroom interior captures the essence of traditional Argentine estancia architecture through its rich, exposed timber ceiling and earthy woven textures. The warm ambient glow cast by an elegant crystal chandelier illuminates the crisp white linens, creating a delicate interplay between colonial-era grandeur and rustic simplicity. Carefully positioned near an arched window framed by weathered wooden shutters, the layout invites a sense of slow-paced tranquility synonymous with the rural lifestyle of the pampas. The deep, honey-toned wood beams overhead provide a striking structural contrast to the minimalist, white-washed plaster walls, reflecting a classic design ethos found throughout historical countryside estates. Every element in the room, from the intimate nightstand lamp to the finely crafted straw headboard, serves as a testament to the enduring craftsmanship of the region. As the light filters through the sheer curtains, the space feels suspended in time, offering a sanctuary for those looking to disconnect from the modern world. This interior design serves as a compelling window into the architectural heritage of the gaucho heartland, where historical preservation meets comfortable, authentic hospitality. Such spaces are essential for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the deep-rooted customs and tranquil pace of life that define the authentic spirit of Argentina's provincial heartland.

A 20-as évek Mercedes SSK modelljei ihlették, de amerikai V8-as hajtja. Kézzel épített, túlzásba hajló retro-luxus – igazi neoklasszikus különlegesség.

Golden afternoon light cascades through the expansive grid-paned windows of Finca Adalgisa, casting soft shadows across the intricate, vintage-patterned ceramic tile floor. The room balances rustic architectural heritage with refined comfort, where plush white upholstery invites a moment of stillness amidst the sprawling Argentine vineyards. Rough-hewn wooden ceiling beams create a warm, cavernous atmosphere, while the indoor-outdoor transition blurs the line between the cozy lounge and the lush, verdant estate beyond. A solitary wooden bench adds a tactile, earthy element to the space, grounding the airy elegance of the linen-draped furniture. The composition utilizes the natural geometry of the steel window frames to draw the eye toward the rhythmic landscape of the vines, capturing the quiet sophistication of Mendoza’s wine country. Subtle floral touches and the gentle overhead motion of the ceiling fan enhance the feeling of a tranquil, timeless retreat tucked away in the shadows of the Andes. The photography emphasizes natural textures, from the weathered wood of the ceiling to the smooth, cool surfaces of the floor, celebrating the authentic craftsmanship found within this historic estate. Each element within the frame contributes to an atmosphere of understated luxury, where the focus remains on the seamless integration of traditional building techniques and pastoral serenity. This image is a collaborative production by Samuel Jeffery and Audrey Bergner for Project 23.
