Volkswagen Beetle | 67L4DY
Townsville, Queensland
This Volkswagen Beetle was photographed during a Tropical Air Volkswagen Club of North Queensland breakfast cruise in Townsville on 31 January 2026.
A classic Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle. Rear engine, air-cooled flat four, simple mechanical layout and one of the most recognisable shapes ever put on the road. These cars were built to be driven, and this one still is.
Finished in a burgundy and cream two tone, it wears its age properly. Steel wheels, chrome trim, original-style interior and a tidy air-cooled engine bay out back. Nothing overdone, nothing staged. Just parked up during the cruise and photographed as it sat on the day.
This set focuses on shape, colour, interior detail and the small mechanical touches that make these cars what they are. Shot in natural light, on location, documenting the car honestly rather than trying to make it something it’s not.

Golden afternoon light cascades through the expansive grid-paned windows of Finca Adalgisa, casting soft shadows across the intricate, vintage-patterned ceramic tile floor. The room balances rustic architectural heritage with refined comfort, where plush white upholstery invites a moment of stillness amidst the sprawling Argentine vineyards. Rough-hewn wooden ceiling beams create a warm, cavernous atmosphere, while the indoor-outdoor transition blurs the line between the cozy lounge and the lush, verdant estate beyond. A solitary wooden bench adds a tactile, earthy element to the space, grounding the airy elegance of the linen-draped furniture. The composition utilizes the natural geometry of the steel window frames to draw the eye toward the rhythmic landscape of the vines, capturing the quiet sophistication of Mendoza’s wine country. Subtle floral touches and the gentle overhead motion of the ceiling fan enhance the feeling of a tranquil, timeless retreat tucked away in the shadows of the Andes. The photography emphasizes natural textures, from the weathered wood of the ceiling to the smooth, cool surfaces of the floor, celebrating the authentic craftsmanship found within this historic estate. Each element within the frame contributes to an atmosphere of understated luxury, where the focus remains on the seamless integration of traditional building techniques and pastoral serenity. La luz dorada de la tarde se filtra a través de las amplias ventanas de cuadrícula de la Finca Adalgisa, proyectando sombras suaves sobre el intrincado piso de baldosas de cerámica con patrones vintage. La habitación equilibra la herencia arquitectónica rústica con un confort refinado, donde la lujosa tapicería blanca invita a un momento de calma en medio de los extensos viñedos argentinos. 🚗 An Excalibur Series IV Phaeton (1982) pulled up right next to my house — after over 1000 km of flawless driving from Switzerland to Budapest.
Inspired by 1920s Mercedes SSKs but powered by an American V8, this hand-built retro-luxury machine was one of the most extravagant neoclassic cars of its era.
Shot on a vintage Pentacon 50mm f1.8, styled with an Ektar 100 film look to bring out the chrome and that deep red paint.
