This gold pocket watch belonged to my late father in law. The glass cover has long gone and you might notice the short hand is broken. I wanted to do something different in photographing it. When I was done, I called it a day :)

This week's Crazy Tuesday challenge, "Time," motivated me to do something showing the weirdness of time. This is what I came up with but alas it does not technically meet the rules of the group. Though the image you see here was created within the rules the photo on which it is based was not. So rather than ruffle any feathers, I decided not to submit it to the group but I sill like it so here it is for better or worse.

Quite by accident something almost happened. Leaving Goonhilly the erstwhile itinerary, transformed as it is to a piece of paper screwed up as much as it is itself, would have the coach headed southeast. We've had railways to thank for the telegraph, an undersea cable at Porthcurno to thank for transmitting Morse's code under the ocean and Telstar to celebrate for bringing us into space age telecommunications. Along the way we have failed to mention Guglielmo Giovanni Maria Marconi, inventor of the wireless, without whom all that work at Goonhilly would not have happened. It's just a hop, step and jump from Goonhilly to Poldhu. Those meagre seven road kilometres would have delivered us to Poldhu and the site where the first transatlantic radio message was sent to be received later in Newfoundland. What a flight of fancy!
Instead we headed northeast, and by the longest route, landed at Falmouth. Here I must be careful lest mispronunciation finds me accused of having a foul mouth. It would match my mood. There we might find another estuary, another harbour, more boats…and for others, I suppose, another bottle of wine at lunch. Another photograph of a harbour would likely bore you as much as taking it would have bored me. Instead, and in haste, I put the disembarked bus behind me and sought solace in a different lunch.
I stumbled into the old Custom House only to find it was transformed by a pizzeria with a very interesting drinks menu. This being the West Country, renowned for cider, it made sense to continue my research on that topic. Here before me is a flight of local ciders and perry, each ⅓ of a pint of local loveliness. I know you're already doing the maths! I'll save you the effort: that's near enough to a litre of cider and perry; at lunch time.
What happened next? I'd say who cares except if I hadn't got on the unplanned train from Falmouth to Truro I'd have been stuck in Falmouth, most likely issuing curses from a foul mouth.
